Therapists in Carlsbad, CA

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a strong background in emergency nursing, military service, and mental health care. My clinical experience has shaped the way I practice: calm under pressure, direct when needed, and deeply committed to helping people feel steady again. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, life stress, burnout, mood concerns, sleep issues, and medication management needs. Before becoming a psychiatric provider, I served in the U.S. Navy. I later worked as an emergency department nurse, where I learned the importance of listening well, acting decisively, and treating the whole person, and not just a diagnosis. My approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in real life. I help patients understand their symptoms, explore treatment options, and build a plan that supports both stability and long-term growth.

Hi! I'm Shala, a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner supporting adolescents, teens, and adults in overcoming anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I use psychotherapy, medication management, and LENS Neurofeedback in my practice. I am also a member of the Benzodiazepine Information and Coalition (BIC). Hi, I am Kirsten. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have always been fascinated by the human experience. My therapeutic style looks at how the past influences our present day functioning. How did you function and what did you believe about yourself before the world told you any different? By becoming emotionally aware and cognizant of our current beliefs, we can begin to heal our past wounds and become whole. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental, individualized, transformative experience for each person.
