Are you feeling overwhelmed and stuck? Are you repeating frustrating patterns? Do you feel unsure of how to move forward? It’s normal to feel this way when facing major life transitions in a complex and often oppressive world.  Working together, I will help you slow down and pay attention to what is happening on the inside with gentleness and curiosity to find answers from your inner wisdom. By changing your relationship with yourself, you can feel more grounded, confident, and authentic. Doing so will allow you to access your most profound sense of empowerment and make clear choices to lead a more meaningful life.  When you face major life transitions, you may feel anxious, sad, isolated, frustrated, or confused. If you have a chronic or terminal illness, grief from the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship or a job, or are exploring your gender or sexual orientation; therapy can provide support and connection as you navigate challenges and choices.  While the lens through which I view the therapy process is existential and transpersonal, my work is fundamentally trauma-informed and social justice-oriented (anti-oppressive). The most common piece of feedback I receive from clients is that they feel more empowered, confident, and grounded after working with me. I am known for providing a safe, non-judgmental space where we explore your feelings, thoughts, choices, and values with gentle curiosity to increase self-awareness and self-compassion to improve your relationship with yourself and others. Together we can sort through what you are feeling to gain insight and relief so you can live with enhanced authenticity and integrity.

Bienvenidos [Welcome]! My name is Rachel Camilo Harris, LMHC, LPCC, owner of Handcrafted Counseling & Consulting, and I am licensed to provide mental health counseling services in both Florida & California. I currently provide coast to coast telehealth thearpy for your convenience! I have 10+ years of clinical experience, working with diverse populations and ages, primarily focused on working through trauma. If you landed here in efforts to gain supervision hours for licensure, I am also a Qualified Supervisor for registered interns in the state of Florida, in search of postgraduate supervision hours.  Why “handcrafted”? I believe there is both an art and science to therapy, and that it is courageous of you to pursue services to enhance your quality of life; therefore, your experience deserves to be handcrafted specifically to address your unique experiences and goals. I specialize in childhood trauma, whether we are engaging in retroactive work to heal the inner child as an adult, or processing concurrent circumstances as a child or adolescent. The foundational tenet of my practice is trauma-informed and my therapeutic approach is authentic, curious and non-judgmental. I bring compassion and energy to meet each of you exactly where you are in your journey. I also enjoy incorporating creativity and humor when appropriate.  My own story and spirituality inspire me to engage in this work; however, it is important to understand that I do not impose my personal beliefs, as I pride myself on professional boundaries and ethics. I am available to incorporate Christian counseling if you are seeking this type of approach. I am a woman of color (Latina) and I also pride myself on curating a safe space for issues surrounding racial trauma to be discussed. I am available for speaking engagements, trainings and webinars, and podcasts.
