Hey there! My name is Cecilia and I am a first gen, bilingual Licensed Clinical Social worker a.k.a therapist with a little over 8 years of experience working with individuals and families. I am the owner & creator of Imperfect Mellow therapy, where I believe that it is okay to be a “mess” sometimes even in our healing journey. We're all humans. I have overcome my own life challenges and believe that through our struggles we build resiliency.  My goal is to support you and hold space for you. I come not only as a therapist but also as your personal cheerleader, secret keeper, and transformation partner. I use different approaches in therapy including, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy to support your journey. I assign homework to help you practice what you learn in session and make progress towards your treatment goals. Therapy with me is teamwork: I want you to feel ownership over your own treatment and we will work together to develop treatment plans and keep us both accountable for them. My personal goal for you is that you get to a place where you feel you do not need me anymore and you are able to slay whatever comes your way. I want to work with you in achieving this.  I have experience treating adults who are struggling with their relationships, healing from inter-generation trauma, going through a difficult life or role transition, struggling with low self-esteem, and/or dealing with depression/anxiety. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify behavior patterns keeping them stuck, learn to set healthy boundaries with others, and challenge negative thinking patterns. This means you can bring snacks, blankets, or fidgets, you can take breaks if needed, you can wear sweats, slippers, heels, or anything in between, you can put on music, adjust the lighting, diffuse essential oils, and sit on the floor or the couch.
