How does family therapy work and how can it help?
Family therapy provides a supportive space for family members to better understand one another, improve communication, and work through patterns that may be causing stress or disconnection. I help families identify what is working, where things feel stuck, and what each person may need in order to feel heard and supported. My approach is relational and practical. Together, we look at family roles, communication styles, conflict patterns, parenting challenges, blended family dynamics, and life transitions. Family therapy can help reduce tension, strengthen trust, create healthier boundaries, and build a more connected home environment. The goal is not to place blame, but to help the family move forward with more clarity, compassion, and teamwork.
I have been a relational therapist for many years. We all face challenges and joys and I am no stranger to either. My road to therapy began about 15 years ago after experiencing my own trauma and grief. I was left feeling stuck on repeat and I needed to take back my power. Finding my way to the other side, my best side, was to learn and develop the tools to support others. I lean into supporting mothers and caregivers as it isn't always easy or predictable. My special education background lends me to advocate for children and families in the home and in the community. I love to support and make a plan for blended families. And my desire is to help couples and intimate partners find fulfillment and connection.

Dr. Jon Michael Saenz

Jon-Michael Saenz, MD, BS
Online Therapy
I am Dr. Jon-Michael A. Saenz, a committed psychiatrist with extensive training and experience in managing severe mental illnesses and mood disorders. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Rochester and completed my psychiatry residency at Tufts Medical Center. Following this, I pursued a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry, where I specialized in treating substance use disorders, personality disorders, as well as severe mania and psychosis. A major part of this training is the ability to clearly communicate complex issues to both patients and others outside the mental health field. My professional experience includes working at Bridgewater State Hospital, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, and the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center, where I refined my skills in addressing a diverse array of mental health conditions. My practice is grounded in a patient-centered approach, always striving to provide individualized and compassionate care. I hold medical licenses in both North Carolina and Massachusetts and possess certifications that enable me to prescribe specialized treatments, including controlled substances and Suboxone. My dedication to excellence in psychiatry has been recognized through multiple Outstanding Resident Teacher Awards during my residency. My mission is to make a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of my patients, and I am here to support you on your journey to improved mental health.
