You are worth it! I recommend asking a potential therapist for a free consultation because finding the right “fit” makes all the difference.  This would also be a time to relay your reluctance to the therapist and see how the conversation about your hesitation feels to you.  Listen to your gut.  Perhaps consider meeting with a couple of providers for free consultations to see if you feel more at ease with one over the others.  Give yourself grace about the process. It takes courage to begin therapy!
I have a passion for working with clients to heal the wounds of abuse, other traumas, or narcissism; work through family-of-origin and attachment issues; liberate from the confines of anxiety, panic, phobias, and OCD (or obsessive-compulsive tendencies); repair and/or heal from relational issues; develop effective boundary-drawing; transform self-concept/esteem; and grow to find peace, joy, purpose, and overall wellness.  I offer a compassionate understanding of who you are, how you show up in the world, and how you experience things. I work with you to identify and build on the strengths within you while developing new strategies and uncovering new insights to help you heal, grow, and flourish. I am nurturing while also able to challenge long-held beliefs and patterns, which may be keeping you stuck or holding you back from the life you want to live. I wish you well on your journey!

I love this question! I wish I could tell them that being vulnerable with anyone can be terrifying- even when if when it's with ourselves (maybe especially so). And like all vulnerability, it is natural that we would want only someone whom we can trust to carry for us. In that case, it's my job to earn that trust. Be it an email with a list of questions, or a phone consultation-I'm here to work with you through anything you may need to build that trust. If being vulnerable is something you struggle with, don't worry- we can start with the absolute basics- like trust!

Just do it! It is one of the best gifts you can give not only yourself but those you love and love you! Going to see a therapist doesn't mean you are sick, hint: that's why you are a client not a patient; it doesn't mean you aren't capable; actually I believe you are fully capable, I just get the honor of walking beside you for a bit.
I’ve always carried a deep desire to help people. My first career law enforcement. However, it did not really allow me to really dig in with individuals and help them make changes so they were not continuing the same cycles over and over. I returned to school and pursued my education in behavioral science and then mental health counseling, graduating with my Master’s degree in 2013. I've treated clients in residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, community mental health, and in a low to high security, all male state prison. I've worked with individuals from every walk of life. As a therapist and human being I’m always motivated to learn and grow. One of my passions is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I have been trained in and previously held certification in the Equine Assisted Growth & Education model. I also earned my EAGALA Military Services Designation to provide culturally competent services to our military members and their families. Another passion is working with our first responders, giving back to those to give so much daily.

Welcome to the journey of taking good care of yourself! In the initial few sessions, you will discuss your concerns and goals with your therapist. Your therapist will support you in examining and developing a deeper understanding of the goals that initially brought you into therapy and you will collaboratively develop a treatment plan to address your needs. Your therapist will walk with you every step of the way and help you in your investment of self-growth.
Hi, I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in the states of California and Iowa. I have specialized experience working with culturally diverse adults struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, shame, and relationship difficulties. Moreover, I have a subspecialty treating mental health symptoms influenced by women specific issues, such as postpartum depression, menopause, gender role challenges, and body image concerns. I also help couples who want to develop deeper intimacy, increase emotional safety, and communicate more effectively with one another. Overall, my passion lies in helping people 1) address shame by cultivating self-compassion, 2) develop healthy relationship boundaries, and 3) live a values-based lifestyle. In all my work, I prioritize creating a space of radical acceptance and safety for individuals to examine their lives honestly and accurately. I am confident that radically genuine living is a life worth living, and I strive to help patients develop an inner haven through which they can live unapologetically as their true selves.

I get it. It’s normal to feel hesitant before trying something new. However, it can’t hurt to try, and if you don’t immediately love it, that’s okay- sometimes it takes a few sessions before you find the right fit. Either way, you are in control of this journey. You could think of it like driving a car; you’re steering the wheel, but sometimes it can be nice to have a supportive guide in the passenger seat.
If you are curious, hesitant, or intimidated about seeking therapy, I am here to help. I create a nonjudgemental, safe and confidential space where you can freely express yourself without fear, judgment or criticism. This space is dedicated solely to your well-being, where you can explore your emotions, build your self-esteem and cultivate self-compassion. If you value a creative and holistic approach to therapy, we may integrate art or other expressive techniques like mindfulness. I am passionate about trauma and women's issues. My training and experience allows me to navigate the complex needs of survivors of all ages, including young survivors. One area of particular interest to me is the mind-body-spirit approach. These therapies focus on the body's wisdom in healing trauma and provide a holistic approach to recovery. As part of Wellspring Therapeutic Partners, I regularly consult with our team of therapists, prescribers, and psychologists who specialize in a variety of areas. I can provide seamless referrals for medication management or testing, though we always welcome and encourage you to keep working with your outside provider if helpful.
