I understand that making that first step towards starting therapy can be difficult. However, if you are willing to put in the work, therapy can be a game changer for you.
Hi. I’m Tinyca Bryan. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. More specifically, I am someone who sparks change in people’s lives. I help individuals, who desire to experience clarity and confidence in their lives, but feel like their reality is one of hopelessness. I provide supportive counseling to these individuals by exploring their history and uncovering patterns that they may not be aware of so that they can begin to move forward, gain more control of their emotions and start living the life they thought to be unattainable. I know from my years of experience in working with adolescents and adults who struggle with issues related to anxiety, depression, grief, relational issues, low self-esteem, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and more, that there is hope and you have the ability to overcome and not only live life but thrive in it. If you are ready to do the work, you will be amazed at how capable you are to explore parts of yourself that you never new existed. The process of therapy can help you gain necessary skills that will aid in your personal growth. I applaud you for taking the first step towards improving your emotional well-being. I believe that each one of use are capable and deserving of fulfilled lives. I realize that it can be difficult to talk to someone you’re meeting for the first time. However, I value the innate self-determination of my clients and empower them to move at a pace which feels most comfortable.

When it comes to therapy, my favorite part is that your therapist is someone who does not know anything about you or your life other than what you share with them. They do not have an emotional connection to your life or your choices in the way that family and friends do, so they are often a safe space to share thoughts, feelings, and concerns without the fear of disappointing someone, worrying them, or hurting their feelings. A therapist is meant to hold up a mirror to you and help you work toward what you want to see in your reflection.
Dr. Roque is a clinical psychologist licensed in Florida, and the Clinical Director at Counseling Associates of America. She has experience conducting psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Evaluations have been conducted for a variety of reasons including treatment formulation, bariatric surgery clearance, and intelligence and academic abilities. Dr. Roque also completes forensic psychological evaluations for 20th Judicial Circuit. Dr. Roque earned her Bachelor's Degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She earned her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Roque completed a clinical internship with the Broward Sherriff's Office, North Broward Bureau. Her work there included providing mental health services to inmates with psychiatric disorders, including group and individual therapy, and comprehensive psychological assessments. She completed her residency at the Counseling Associates of America, where she continues to work today. Dr. Roque is fluent in English and Spanish, and able to provide services in both languages.

Being witnessed in your whole story can be life-changing. I operate with the goal increasing your self-acceptance, agency, compassion, and confidence in navigating your life. In therapy, we will work at your pace and comfort level. I may make suggestions, but I will never tell you what to do—I believe you know what you need, and may benefit from some assistance in identifying it but I'll always trust you when you tell me.
Who am I really? How do I have better relationships? What’s the point of life? Is something wrong with me? Where do I belong? Can I heal? Are you asking yourself these questions? Are you ready to find some answers? Let’s co-create a space where you can find your internal compass, release your burdens (personal, intergenerational, cultural) and figure out what real change looks like. I’m here to help you embrace the intricate beauty and messiness of who you are. I bring to sessions boundless curiosity, caring challenges, and commitment to building trust at your own pace, all while keeping the focus on you. I am a trauma therapist at my core, and work a lot with folks who are navigating alternative sexualities and relationship styles (kink/BDSM, polyamory, ace, aro, you name it), living with chronic illness or disability, and exploring their gender (which is for cisgender folks too!). My approach is integrative in the sense that we will attend to your emotional, intellectual, and embodied ways of being. Are you ready to make meaning of your life in a way that integrates all of your experiences? Being witnessed in our whole truth can offer deep healing. I hope our work together will catalyze internal liberation, strengthening our shared path toward collective liberation.

I am aware that considering seeking therapy is a big deal. Especially, if you grew up in an environment that told you to keep your problems to yourself or that it is viewed as a sign of weakness. Let us deconstruct those ideas that have not served us. We matter! As such we need to allow ourselves to be helped. I would tell someone that is hesitant in seeking therapy to give it a chance. At most, you will learn something about yourself that you did not realize before.
Welcome! My name is Kenia Rijo and I am the Founder of Mind, Body And You Therapeutic Services. I have over a decade of experience in clinical settings working with individuals navigating life transitions, identity and anxiety. I am fluent in Spanish which allows for one to be able to serve a large range of clients in their healing journey. In my work I believe it is important to work together to help you develop coping skills, reduce anxiety and stress, cultivate self-love and compassion, and find peace using a strengths-based and person-centered approach. But most importantly our relationship will center on building a better and healthier you as whole- in mind, body, and spirit. It can feel like life is happening too fast and you may feel like you need air to breathe. Together we can work on setting manageable and realistic goals. In the process of wanting more for yourself, you may miss all the small victories that are just as important. Let’s work together to allow you the space to become your authentic self.
