For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Many people feel unsure at first. Therapy isn’t about having something 'wrong' with you. It’s about having a space that’s just for you—to talk, reflect, and work through life’s challenges with support and without judgment. You don’t need to be in crisis to start. You just need to be open to the idea that things can get better. And they can. You deserve that chance."
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the complexities of life and wonder where to turn for guidance? I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can safely explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My approach is rooted in the belief that every individual is unique, and healing is a collaborative journey tailored to your specific needs. I work with clients of all ages, helping you navigate challenges and build the life you envision. In our sessions, uncover the patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. You’ll learn how your past influences the present and to embrace change. Whether you are dealing with mental health issues, cultural differences, challenges with motherhood, or conflicts within your family, I provide practical tools and empathetic support to strengthen connections and foster mutual understanding. Overall, my holistic and integrative approach transforms challenges into opportunities for personal growth. With each session, we cultivate a comprehensive understanding of your personal narrative, enabling you to unlock your potential and live a more authentic life. I am committed to provide guidance as you transform challenges into growth and fulfillment. We will work together to gain insight, overcome obstacles, and move forward with confidence and empowerment.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
I wish I could tell those who are hesitant to try therapy that I truly believe that anyone and everyone can benefit from therapy. Going to therapy does not mean that something is “wrong” with you or that you need to be “fixed.” It does not mean that you are “crazy” or “broken.” Going to therapy can be about gaining a deeper understanding of your identity and values, learning how to improve your relationships and better your communication, healing from trauma, navigating major life transitions, and so much more. Regardless of your background or circumstances, you deserve support and guidance through life’s challenges.
My name is Shira Collings (she/they). I specialize in working with clients with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image distress, and those wanting to break free from diet culture. As a diet culture dropout myself, I am passionate about supporting others in finding freedom with food and body acceptance. I am also passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent folx, as well as those with substance use and trauma histories. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the Health At Every Size paradigm and body liberation. It is also informed by feminism, disability justice, and queer and trans liberation. I believe that healing comes from feeling heard, seen, and valued, and I strive to create a space in which clients can express their full, authentic selves.
