What's your experience with clients with anxiety?
I take a holistic approach in treating anxiety and panic disorder as with ANY other struggles. I help the client to look at all aspects of their lives (e.g., stress, trauma, isolation, fears, relationship, work and or school stressors, lifestyle, food, sleep patterns, nutrition, spiritual life, and medical issues) that might contribute to their current struggles. I utilize special breathing techniques, mediations, CBT therapy, and special interventions that specifically target and reduce anxiety and panic. Life presents us with so many unexpected challenges and transitions. You may feel overwhelmed, demotivated, detached or even hopeless. At New Directions Psychotherapies I’ll walk alongside you to help you create emotional balance and overall wellness, freeing you from whatever it is that is keeping you stuck or blocked from achieving your goals and living life to the fullest.
As your therapist, I empathically listen while doing my best to answer any questions that may arise in therapy. This approach creates a forum where the client feels comfortable to share their struggles and helps them alleviate barriers and fosters an authentic therapeutic connection. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor LCMHCS in NC and LPC in SC and Board Certified National Certified Counselor and have also completed a two-year professional addiction counselor-training program with several years clinical experience working with addictions. I'm also certified by the AACC to treat sexual addictions. I treat all types of psychological issues, specializing in work with Individuals with Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Panic Disorder and Grief/Loss, Life Transitions, Couples and Family Therapy. I also possess years of experience working with addictions (i.e., sex and relationship addictions, alcohol, drugs, food, etc.).
