What should people thinking about working with you, know about you?
My approach to therapy is about more than just learning coping skills. I focus on identifying and tackling the root problem, not just managing symptoms. When we experience trauma or emotionally distressing experiences, our mind and body can get "stuck" there, causing us pervasive distress in the present. I blend experiential and relational therapy interventions with EMDR to tailor therapy to your unique needs and help you get "unstuck." You can expect to be welcomed with warmth, acceptance, and humor. My goal is for you to walk away feeling deeply seen and understood, with new insights to apply to your everyday life outside of therapy. We will work together to establish a collaborative space for self-discovery and growth. Together, we can identify and work through issues and patterns that may be keeping you stuck. We will work to reduce the distress you are feeling, so you can be present and engaged as the best version of you.
Many of my clients come to me feeling alone, unfulfilled, and wanting something different out of their relationships. They are often feeling burnt out, struggling with impulsivity & procrastination, feeling “not good enough,” holding themselves to unrealistic standards, feeling weighed down by what’s happening in the world, repeating the same unhealthy relationship patterns again and again, and confused about who they are after spending so much time trying to be something else for other people.

Humor is important to me, I believe laughter can be a cure for a lot of things and I tend to incorporate this into my therapy style. Sometimes my sense of humor is dark and sometimes it's cheery. I also believe that clients are the experts on themselves and my role as a therapist is often to just help guide and support. I feel passionately about encouraging the existing strengths that you already have inside you. As a therapist, I believe the key to therapeutic success is in the relationship between the therapist and the client so I put much emphasis on building connection and relationship to my clients.

Therapy is a process by which an individual begins to see how they can create a life worth living, and I am honored to walk with you on this journey. Clients can expect to experience curiosity and enthusiasm during sessions, and feel challenged when faced with new perspectives that prompt an exploration of thought patterns or longstanding beliefs that do not serve a purpose for them anymore. The goal of therapy will be to develop the skills and tools to uncover your potential and build mastery.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist, practicing virtually in New York City and New York State. I provide individual psychotherapy to clients across the lifespan from the emerging young adult population to those with a few years of lived experienced behind them.   I am a graduate of Columbia University with a Master of Science degree in Social Work, completed intensive foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through the DBT Training Program and Lab under the direction of Dr. Andre Ivanoff.  I received additional training in prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and behavioral activation training in my studies.  As a post-graduate, I pursued further advancement   based in evidence based practices of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT (through the Beck Institute), DBT, Emotionally Focused Treatment, and Complicated Grief Treatment (through the Center for Prolonged Grief at Columbia University), with additional focus on mindfulness based practices and traditional psychodynamic psychotherapy. I believe in fully supporting my clients to be the drivers of their own life and I’m the GPS — I can help you arrive to where you want to be, and I empower you to make choices that feel most effective, validating and free spirited.

I allow you to be you. You do not have to pretend or be someone that you are not. I see that you may be hesitant and reluctant to speak with me, and that is okay. I want you to know that you have a safe, confidential space where there is no judgement, no embarrassment, no loneliness in the process. You will receive the very best support for you and only you will know what will be best for you. I want to help you, with your guidance, to be the best you for a life that desperately needs you.
