What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
In our first session we will review your intake paperwork, and history, then work together to identify your goals for our time together. Sessions are led by you, to meet your needs in the here and now, and in line with your stated goals. As a therapist I pull from many different modalities as I do not believe one size fits all approach. I enjoy working with a diverse population of people who are motivated to live their best lives.
I’ve always carried a deep desire to help people. My first career law enforcement. However, it did not really allow me to really dig in with individuals and help them make changes so they were not continuing the same cycles over and over. I returned to school and pursued my education in behavioral science and then mental health counseling, graduating with my Master’s degree in 2013. I've treated clients in residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, community mental health, and in a low to high security, all male state prison. I've worked with individuals from every walk of life. As a therapist and human being I’m always motivated to learn and grow. One of my passions is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I have been trained in and previously held certification in the Equine Assisted Growth & Education model. I also earned my EAGALA Military Services Designation to provide culturally competent services to our military members and their families. Another passion is working with our first responders, giving back to those to give so much daily.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
In "Individual Therapy" the process allows the therapist and client to speak one-on-one. Most sessions are usually 50-60 minutes. In our practice, We pride ourselves on putting our clients first and using a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to address the root of emotional or behavioral issues. Our Individual psychotherapy sessions are distinct in the following key areas because we focus on: *Building rapport and understanding expectations and goals for treatment. Collect relevant information like Family, history, Childhood experiences, *Trauma and Abuse history, Past treatment history, and other relevant information. *Peeling the onion strategy to effectively change entrenched psychological or behavioral patterns and unresolved issues to develop and build appropriate solutions and coping skills. *Work with creative methods to process and uncover the root cause of the current symptomatology. *Focus on the issues most relevant to one’s goals. *Utilize experiential (in the moment) therapeutic tools to tap into how the brain learns and exhibits behaviors and emotions. *These are just a few of the ways to describe what you can expect when working with our Sahaya Therapy psychotherapy staff.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?
In my therapy sessions, I create a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about what’s on your mind. I like to take a collaborative approach, meaning we’ll work together to figure out what you need and what goals make sense for you. Depending on your needs, I might incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, or other approaches that can help you better understand your thoughts and feelings. The goal is to help you feel empowered, understood, and equipped with tools that can support you both during and outside of our sessions.
"Hello! I'm a Nurse Practitioner dedicated to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of my community. With years of experience and a genuine passion for healthcare, I’ve had the opportunity to lead several impactful projects and initiatives that contribute to better patient outcomes. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with policymakers, presenting at national conferences, and receiving accolades, including a proclamation from the Mayor during Nurse Practitioner’s Week. My focus has been on integrating mental and physical health care, improving primary care outcomes, and addressing key public health issues like childhood obesity, mental health, and chronic disease management. I specialize in family medicine, psychiatry, mental health, weight loss, and general practice, treating conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and addiction. I also provide care for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and insomnia, while addressing complex issues like OCD, personality disorders, and mood disorders. In my practice, I use a variety of evidence-based treatment methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, trauma-focused therapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. I believe in a holistic approach to health that empowers patients to take control of their well-being through tailored, compassionate care. I am deeply committed to continuous learning and sharing knowledge, knowing that every effort helps build healthier, more resilient communities.
