What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
People have said it's raw, honest, authentic, and with candid examples of human-ness. I say it's rooted in a connection of our being completely human together, and yet still professional, principled, and informed.
I wholeheartedly believe in the process of authentic connection. With a multicultural background, I recognizes each person is uniquely multifaceted. My approach to therapy is to meet you wherever you’re at in life, get curious about you, and then serve as YOUR team to journey alongside you. The goal is to provide a safe empathetic space where you are respected and honored, so that internal self-explorations can begin, and to foster creative evolutions towards intentionality, self-discovery, self-empowerment, and healing. The focus is your growth & thriving towards being the best version(s) of yourself that you like to be. With 5 years’ experience in community mental health, psychiatric facility, and prison systems altogether, I have supported youths & adults with assessments, skills training, and therapy for individual, family, and group. I utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, EMDR, & person-centered insights to address a wide range of concerns. People deserve to be believed in, with their worth and potential supported, so that each one of us can live fulfilled, so I work towards breaking the stigma of mental health one conversation at a time. I also enjoy globetrotting, reading, tea, video games, and loves hedgehogs.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Consultation - 10 minutes An opportunity for potential patients to discuss their concerns or needs to determine if the services are a good fit and to receive initial advice or guidance. Many providers offer free or very affordable consultation services with potential patient leads. Initial Visit - 55 minutes An initial visit involves a medical history review, physical examination, and possibly diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop a treatment plan. Follow-up Visit - 30 minutes A follow-up visit involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes. Medication Refill - 15 minutes A medication refill appointment typically involves a brief review of his/her existing patient's medical history, confirming the need for the medication refill, and issuing a new prescription. It may also involve evaluating any side effects or concerns related to the medication and ensuring that the treatment plan is still appropriate for the patient's needs.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
Working with me can look a little different each session, depending on what you need that day. Sometimes we’re doing body-based work, like somatic tracking, breathwork, or Brainspotting, to help release what your nervous system has been holding onto. Other times, we’re mapping out cognitive distortions, exploring values, or revisiting a tough memory with compassion through narrative or imaginal exposure. You might find yourself dialoguing with an inner child part, naming something you’ve never said out loud, or simply sitting in silence while we give your body time to speak. We may plan an in-vivo exposure together to face a fear with support, or explore layered identity, grief, or boundaries through art, mapping, or future self visualization. On other days, you might write from a part of you that’s scared, angry, or just tired. We’ll notice what feels true in your body, your thoughts, and your emotions, and work with whatever shows up, whether it’s resistance, tenderness, insight, or overwhelm. And sometimes, it’s as simple as just talking it out, because you don’t have many (or any) places where you feel safe enough to be fully yourself without judgment. This space is for all of you, not just the parts that are easy to show. There’s no one-size-fits-all here. Our work is a collaborative process where you don’t have to perform or figure it all out right away. Some sessions will feel deep and heavy. Others might be playful, reflective, or exploratory. You get to lead, and I help shape the path as we go. The goal is always the same: to help you feel more connected to yourself, your body, your voice, and the life you want to live. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, OCD, burnout, or identity work, therapy with me is about building something that feels both supportive and real, one step at a time.
Hi, I’m Ysabel! I work with people who are ready for something to change, even if they’re not quite sure what that looks like yet. Maybe your mind feels like it never turns off. Maybe you're constantly second-guessing yourself, overwhelmed by emotions, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break. Or maybe you're parenting a child who’s anxious, sensitive, or shutting down, and you’re not sure how to help without burning yourself out in the process. Whatever brings you here, I believe therapy should feel like a safe space to take a breath, be honest, and figure things out at your own pace. I specialize in working with anxiety, OCD, trauma, and the hard-to-name stuff that lives in the body even when we’ve tried to think our way through it. I use a mix of mind-body tools, emotional regulation skills, and real conversations to help you or your child build insight, resilience, and lasting change. I’m not here to “fix” you, I’m here to support you in understanding your story, unlearning what no longer fits, and moving toward a version of life that feels more grounded, clear, and true to who you are.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are conducted via a HIPAA-compliant platform called Doxy.me. The first few sessions are usually spent building rapport and laying the foundation for our work by discussing your history and what brings you to therapy. From there, it varies depending on what you're wanting to get out of the therapy, so that can mean discussing family or other significant relationships, things that have come up recently that you want help unpack and work through, sources of stress, goals for the future, etc.
I am a New York City-based licensed clinical social worker who believes that it’s powerful and healing to have a space to be heard and supported while addressing challenges and achieving goals. I work with adults of all ages and walks of life who want to live a happier and more satisfying and productive life. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, trying to understand their career and relationship goals, learning how best to respond to daily stress, anxiety, and challenges, and striving to improve their relationships, mental health, emotions, and self-esteem. Together, we will clarify your goals and develop insight, skills, and self-compassion. I provide my clients with the tools and skills to better understand themselves and feel resilient, grounded, and empowered to make changes. My approach is empathic and exploratory and I draw from a combination of skills- and insight-oriented modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I received both my undergraduate degree and Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and spent several years working in the Department of Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, where I treated individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues. Prior to that, I worked with individuals with chronic and progressive neurological illnesses at NYU Langone Medical Center. You are worthy of having a safe space to be heard, nourished, and supported. I know it can be intimidating and overwhelming to be vulnerable with a stranger, but I have every confidence that this journey will be beneficial and rewarding. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and discuss how I can come alongside you as a support and a guide.
