Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
My path to becoming a therapist started at a very young age. During lunchtime in preschool, my classmates would stand in line and wait to talk to me. We talked about the woes of preschool life, playtime squabbles and anything else our little minds were wrapped around. What keeps me going now is my passion for helping others, who like myself, have experienced trauma.
If you have been traumatized in the past, by a relationship, an incident, an accident, something that seems unforgivable and unmanageable to you, even now, I can help. If you find yourself experiencing emotional pain, hopelessness and loss of connectedness, I can help. I can help by helping you to begin to treasure yourself, first for surviving, and eventually for learning to flourish, through good times and bad. I can help by providing you a safe and supportive space to let your mind wonder and find answers to your inner most questions about yourself and your experiences, whether past or present. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am also certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. My areas of clinical expertise include addiction, mental health court, personality disorders, crisis and trauma, and psychotic disorders. If you are interested in making the investment in yourself to begin counseling, I offer a free 30-minute initial session. This initial session will provide you with the opportunity to have your questions answered about the therapy process and get a feel for how I am as a therapist. I am also available by email to answer any questions.

I became a therapist because I believe in the power of human connection and the transformative impact of feeling truly seen, heard, and understood. Life can be overwhelming, and I wanted to create a space where people feel safe to explore their struggles, build resilience, and regain a sense of control. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a reminder of why this work matters.
Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about having a safe space to explore, process, and grow. I want you to feel comfortable showing up as you are, knowing that this is a judgment-free zone where we work together to help you feel more in control of your life. I understand how overwhelming anxiety, self-doubt, and big life changes can be, and I also know that you don’t have to navigate them alone. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative—I’ll support you, challenge you when needed, and give you practical tools to help you build confidence, emotional resilience, and a life that feels more like yours. I believe that healing happens when you feel seen, heard, and understood—and my goal is to create that space for you. *Specialties •Mental Health *Conditions treated •Anxiety •PTSD •Relationship issues •Mood disorders •Trauma •Panic attacks •Depression •Life Transitions •Behavioral Issues •Bisexual •Body Positivity •Coping Skills •Family Conflict •Grief •Lesbian •LGBTQ+ •Peer Relationships •School Issues •Self Esteem •Stress •Women's Issues *Treatment philosophy I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered.
