How does narrative therapy work and how can it help?
Narrative therapy helps you explore the stories you have been carrying about yourself, your relationships, and your life experiences. Sometimes, when we go through stress, rejection, trauma, identity shifts, or painful relationships, we start to believe stories like “I’m not enough,” “I always mess things up,” or “This is just who I am.” Narrative therapy creates space to gently separate you from the problem and look at these stories with more curiosity and compassion. In our work together, we would explore where these beliefs came from, how they have shaped your choices, and whether they still fit the person you are becoming. We would also identify moments of strength, resilience, and authenticity that may have been overlooked. This approach can help you feel less defined by past experiences and more empowered to rewrite your story in a way that reflects your values, identity, and hopes for the future.
Hi, I’m Miguel. I’m a warm, authentic, and empowering therapist dedicated to helping you feel seen and supported. My approach is modern and collaborative; I view therapy as a partnership where we work together to foster growth and clarity. I specialize in working with individuals feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating shifts in identity. As an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and a member of the community myself, I am committed to providing a space where you never have to justify who you are. I welcome clients of all backgrounds with respect and warmth. In our sessions, expect a mix of humor, validation, and gentle challenge. I integrate ACT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, CBT, and Solution-Focused techniques to tailor our work to your specific needs. You’re in the driver’s seat—I’m here with the map to help you reconnect with your values and build a life aligned with your true self. If you’re looking for a therapist who is real, culturally aware, and invested in your journey, let’s connect.

The most important thing for you to know about me is that I care about supporting my community(s), and I'll care about supporting you. I'll meet you where you're at, and support you in meeting your goals, as long as you're committed to meeting them. I work with groups, couples, families, and individuals ages 13-80. I'm passionate about: * being a resource to individuals, regardless of race, class, or creed. * being a resource to underserved and disenfranchised communities - including BIPOc communities. * Supporting interracial couples, and multi-ethnic families. I have an integrative approach, and love to incorporate the following therapy models/modalities in practice:  * Internal Family Systems  * Emotion Focused Therapy * Narrative Therapy * Motivational Interviewing (Theory of Change) I believe change happens when people are witnessed 3 times: in conflict, in recovery, and in proximity to an ideal version of themself. I believe we move forward after all of the "best and worst parts" of us are seen, and reminded they are capable of being validated, safe, healed, and loved. I support those are ready to navigate change with: * family conflict * phase of life changes  * grief * depression * anxiety * conflict with boundaries * couples and intimacy related issues. * Cross-cultural relationship issues If any of this resonates with you, reach out for a consultation: (213) 973-8278. Greetings! I'm Dr. Joshua Werblin, a dedicated psychiatrist with a compassionate approach to care. My practice is a sanctuary for individuals of all ages seeking mental wellness. My journey began at The University of Chicago, where I delved into the fundamentals of society and its utopian ideals. I took a somewhat circuitous path from there, working in different fields for nearly a decade before starting to study for my medical degree (M.D.) at Tulane University School of Medicine. During those ten years, I worked variously as a biophysicist, wooden boatbuilder, IT support, astrophysics technical work, and an Auxiliary NYPD officer in Harlem. I completed a Pediatrics Internship at Tulane University, followed by a narrower focus in General Psychiatry Residency training, also at Tulane. I then received subspecialty fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington, followed by the acquisition of Addiction Psychiatry sub-specialization some years later. My career has been diverse, including roles as an Inpatient Psychiatrist, Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist, and several Outpatient Psychiatry positions in New York, Florida, and Maryland. More than half of my career has been spent serving the most underserved and marginalized populations, such as youth and women rescued from the sex trade, runaway youth, homeless families, LGBTQIA++ populations, and undocumented immigrants. Since 2019, I've been proudly serving as 'The Feelings Doctor' in my solo virtual practice, offering psychiatric care for children, adolescents, adults, and those facing addiction challenges. My commitment to you is simple: to provide empathetic, individualized, evidence-based care that supports your unique journey toward mental health wellness, whether or not you choose to use medications along the way. Let's work together to navigate life's challenges and embrace the path to healing and fulfillment.
