What's your experience with relationship counseling?
Making a marriage or relationship work takes, well...work! But what a beautiful, transformative work it can be. I believe that a true love story is depicted when the relationship allows for the refining of character, a transformation of the heart, and changing of the soul towards the one you choose to love. Typically, in couples therapy, the goal is to reestablish and/or build upon the trust, commitment, and friendship that connected you and your partner at the beginning of your love journey. Therefore, at every turn, we will focus on building intimacy through honest and transparent communication about personal fears, unmet needs, and unspoken dreams. I’ll teach you how to say what you mean and mean what you say while managing your judgments and criticisms towards your partner when conflicts arise. Because, inevitably, couples will be faced with conflict or challenges (e.g., values and beliefs, finances, intimacy, sex, addiction, child-rearing, infidelity, technology, in-laws, etc.) that can feel overwhelming and even seem irreparable at times.      But there is hope! By choosing to push through the hard things that surface in the process, being willing to change within yourself before demanding change in your partner, and continuously showing up for your partner even when you don’t feel like it, you will have the opportunity to create new purpose and meaning for your relationship.
Hi, I’m Brittny. I am a wife and ‘mompreneur’ therapist who is energized by empowering individuals and relationships to heal, nurture, flourish, and discover how to BE the gifts that they innately are. I call myself the ‘healing agent.’

How does couples therapy work and how can it help?
Every relationship—whether monogamous, polyamorous, open, or somewhere in between—comes with moments of connection and moments of struggle. Maybe small disagreements keep turning into big arguments, maybe you feel unseen or misunderstood, or maybe the spark has faded and you’re wondering how to get it back. Trust breaks, communication ruts, and life transitions can make even strong bonds feel shaky. In our work together, I’ll help you and your partner(s) step out of painful patterns and reconnect in ways that feel genuine and lasting. I draw from Gottman’s Sound Relationship House to identify areas for repair and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to bring awareness to unmet needs and deepen connection. My approach is collaborative and affirming—there’s no judgment, no assumptions, and no need to educate me about your relationship structure. The goal isn’t perfection, but creating a stronger foundation of trust, emotional safety, and deeper connection so your relationships can truly thrive!
Hey there—I’m Tara! We all carry stories—some visible, some quietly tucked away. Life can throw sudden changes, invisible struggles, or seasons of overwhelm. It gets messy. It gets exhausting. I know what it takes to keep going when no one can see all that you’re carrying. Healing isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about understanding your story, finding tools that actually work, and creating balance that feels right for you. I have experience supporting people through anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and life’s curveballs. I work with couples and individuals from all backgrounds and identities, including military spouses and veterans, offering a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported! Outside the office, you can find me planning my next tattoo, singing way too loudly, or laughing at funny cat videos! I believe therapy doesn’t have to be all serious faces and stiff chairs—openness, curiosity, and even a little humor can go a long way in the healing process! If you’re looking for a nonjudgmental, safe space to process whatever’s on your mind—without the stuffy-office vibes—you’re in the right place! This is your space to let go and breathe easier. To go at your own pace. To be accepted exactly as you are. Therapy with me is about pressing pause, tuning into what’s really going on beneath the surface, and giving yourself some room to breathe. Please contact me if: -You feel like you’re in overdrive or juggling a million tabs -You need a space where you can show up as your full self, especially if you’ve felt unseen or misunderstood -You’re burned out or feeling numb, like you’ve lost your spark -You’re grieving a loss or navigating a major life change -Your relationship is under stress, and you want support to reconnect or heal -You’ve been lugging around emotions like a backpack full of bricks and are overdue for setting it down -You’re a military spouse trying to find balance and support through transitions or isolation

How does couples therapy work and how can it help?
I am Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2 trained, which is the most comprehensive, evidence-based and effective therapy available for relationship improvement today. Based on over five decades of research in relationship psychology, the Gottman Method utilizes structured and solution-focused interventions. My treatment approach to couples therapy represents an integration of interventions and techniques from the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Relational-Cultural Psychotherapy, Bowen’s Family Systems Theory, and Attachment Theory, as well as evidence-based approaches, including Trauma-Informed Care, and Internal Family Systems amongst others. I welcome all types of couples and respect how partners define their unique relationships. Couples counseling can be beneficial for a wide continuum of concerns/difficulties, ranging from couples/partners who want to simply improve and optimize their relationships to those who are in a serious crisis and feel close to the breaking point. Couples often seek my help when they encounter roadblocks or lack intimacy— At times, they may be repeating the same destructive patterns, engaging in the same arguments and processes, experiencing a rupture of trust or infidelity, lacking of understanding or compassion, engaging in disagreements about priorities, having disparate needs for emotional closeness, experiencing feelings of neglect or overwhelm, or sensing a general relationship malaise. Other common difficulties include sexual intimacy, becoming parents or parenting dilemmas, an emotional or sexual affair, negotiating life’s trials ranging from finances to in-law relationships, and conscious uncoupling in separation or divorce. By working with me, couples gain insights into their relational dynamics, core relational themes which we are rooted in both their shared journey as well as their families of origin. I recommend effective strategies to improve relational dynamics, leading the couple to experience new ways of being and relating to one another both inside and outside of the therapeutic room.
