I have personally overcome a wide range of challenges, from growing up in a dysfunctional home and struggling with weight, stress, and depression to dropping out of high school, being a homeless teen mother, and losing a son to gun violence. I’ve navigated toxic friendships, abusive relationships, and survived a narcissistic marriage, all while raising a son in the LGBTQ community and often feeling like I didn’t belong or fit into the world around me. In addition to my extensive academic studies in nursing, psychiatry, metaphysical science, nutrition, and functional medicine, I am also a Certified Advanced Mastery Life Coach and Transformational Health Coach. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of individuals from all walks of life. Each has faced their own unique challenges, and through my coaching, I’ve helped them find balance in their mind, body, and spirit. Together, we’ve unlocked their potential to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives, build stronger relationships, and learn how to thrive—not just survive.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Chicago. I went to school at the University of Illinois at Chicago for my MSW and Anderson University for my BA in Social Work.

I’m a Clinical Therapist at Health and Healing Therapy and I work with teens and adults 18 – 30 years old who are working through various wanted and unwanted transitions, changes, and challenges of life. I am grateful for the opportunity to help assist and support people as they are going through some of the most painful, unknown, and difficult times of their lives.

I am LaMonica, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I graduated from Gentry High School. In 2009, I received my Practical Nursing Certification at Coahoma Community College. Continuing my education, I earned my Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in 2012. Advancing further, I completed a Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing in 2015 at Walden University. Throughout my entire nursing career, my primary focus has been in Family Medicine. I began my career in a local Health Center, initially working as a staff nurse. As a Registered Nurse, I ventured into the field as a home health nurse and then transitioned to become the owner of an allied health school that trained CNAs, MAs, Phlebotomists, and Pharmacy Techs. After completing my master’s program, I opened my independent practice as a Nurse Practitioner before deciding to attend Medical School three years later. Currently, I am a fourth-year medical student at Washington University of Health and Science. Simultaneously, I am completing a third Master’s for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University, which will be completed in April 2024. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and cuddling up with a good movie.

I am a certified Physician Assistant and completed my master's degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. I have several years of experience as a Family Medicine Physician Assistant, operating as the sole medical practitioner of my outpatient community health clinic. I manage an extensive array of acute and chronic health conditions, with a significant portion of my practice dedicated to diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders ranging from mild to severe. I have a passion for ensuring that those struggling with mental health issues receive prompt and effective treatment, as I understand the substantial toll that untreated ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other mood disorders can take on someone's life. I strive to ensure that each of my patients always feel heard and acknowledged. With mental health recognition growing over the previous decades, my healthcare goal is to continue providing further access to necessary mental health resources to those in need. This is why I utilize telehealth examinations to help remove barriers to accessing this crucial area of healthcare.
