How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who have anxiety, my approach focuses on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel heard and understood. We start by exploring how anxiety shows up in their life, identifying specific triggers, thoughts, and physical symptoms. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and challenge the thoughts that contribute to their anxiety, gradually replacing them with more constructive patterns. Additionally, we might integrate mindfulness practices to help manage anxiety in the moment, as well as techniques like deep breathing or grounding exercises to reduce physical symptoms. For clients who need it, we can discuss medication options as a supplementary tool for relief. Each person’s experience with anxiety is unique, so I’m collaborative in my approach, adapting strategies based on what feels most effective and empowering for them. Over time, my goal is for clients to feel more in control, less reactive to anxiety, and ultimately more resilient in facing life’s challenges.
With over a two decades of experience in nursing and mental health care combined, I specialize in understanding and meeting the unique needs of each individual. My journey began as a Certified Nursing Assistant, I loved caring for others and pursued the following: Licensed Practical Nurse , Associate of Science in Nursing, followed by a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health from Hunter College. I have worked in various challenging roles, including emergency room case management, utilization review, community nursing ,child and adult psychiatry. I am skilled in listening to my patients, addressing their concerns promptly, and coordinating with a network of resources to ensure they receive the best care possible. My expertise comes from addressing social determinants of health and medical /psychiatric needs to encompass total care. I have personal and professional experience with autism and the multifaceted approach individuals need as they age from behavioral recommendations, medication management, gold standard Applied Behavioral Analysis ( ABA), family needs related to burn out and working with education providers for growth and success.

What's your experience with clients with anxiety?
In the past several years, and for several understandable reasons, we've seen reported rates of anxiety and panic at an all-time high. Anxiety is something that everyone experiences to some degree or another, but sometimes, it becomes intense and overwhelming. Whether a client is experiencing mild or debilitating anxiety, I provide them with a safe and validating place to process and understand what they're experiencing, and I give them specific tools to manage and reduce anxiety.
I am a New York City-based licensed clinical social worker who believes that it’s powerful and healing to have a space to be heard and supported while addressing challenges and achieving goals. I work with adults of all ages and walks of life who want to live a happier and more satisfying and productive life. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, trying to understand their career and relationship goals, learning how best to respond to daily stress, anxiety, and challenges, and striving to improve their relationships, mental health, emotions, and self-esteem. Together, we will clarify your goals and develop insight, skills, and self-compassion. I provide my clients with the tools and skills to better understand themselves and feel resilient, grounded, and empowered to make changes. My approach is empathic and exploratory and I draw from a combination of skills- and insight-oriented modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I received both my undergraduate degree and Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and spent several years working in the Department of Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, where I treated individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues. Prior to that, I worked with individuals with chronic and progressive neurological illnesses at NYU Langone Medical Center. You are worthy of having a safe space to be heard, nourished, and supported. I know it can be intimidating and overwhelming to be vulnerable with a stranger, but I have every confidence that this journey will be beneficial and rewarding. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and discuss how I can come alongside you as a support and a guide.
