Hi! I’m Emilee Crowder, a relational, trauma-informed therapist providing online therapy for women in Texas, Arizona, Alaska, Utah & Washington.
I work especially well with women navigating people-pleasing, anxiety, attachment wounds, relational trauma & religious trauma. You might find yourself overthinking interactions, worrying that someone is upset with you, struggling to know what you actually want, feeling responsible for other people’s emotions, or noticing the same relationship patterns showing up again & again.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, curious & very human. Rather than simply trying to get rid of uncomfortable emotions, we’ll get curious about what they’re telling us, explore where your patterns came from & understand what they may have helped you survive, protect or maintain in the past. From there, we can work toward more self-trust, stronger boundaries & relationships where you don’t have to abandon yourself to stay connected.
I’m trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA-approved program & may integrate EMDR when it could help us work with experiences, memories, beliefs or emotional responses that continue to feel stuck.
I also bring lived experience to my work with religious trauma & faith transitions. I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served a mission, attended BYU & later left the church. I understand how deeply religion can become intertwined with identity, relationships, belonging & self-trust.
You don’t need to show up to therapy knowing exactly what to talk about or how to “do therapy” correctly. We’ll figure it out together.
