How do you work with clients with trauma and PTSD?
When working with clients who have experienced trauma or PTSD, I take a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. I understand that trauma can affect emotions, thoughts, relationships, and physical well-being, and I tailor treatment to each individual's unique experiences and needs. Together, we work to understand trauma responses, develop healthy coping skills, manage symptoms such as anxiety, hypervigilance, nightmares, or emotional distress, and build resilience over time. My goal is to help clients regain a sense of control, improve daily functioning, and move toward healing at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. When appropriate, treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, and coordination with specialized trauma-focused therapeutic services.
Welcome. I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Master of Public Health with over 18 years of healthcare experience. Throughout my career, I have provided compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, inpatient residential programs, and Veteran healthcare services. My goal is to meet you where you are in your journey and create a supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether you are seeking care for the first time or returning to treatment, I am committed to helping you achieve improved mental wellness through personalized, culturally responsive care.

What's your approach to trauma and PTSD, and what does progress look like for clients?
I approach trauma and PTSD with compassion, safety, and an understanding that healing happens at your own pace. My priority is creating a trusting, nonjudgmental environment where you feel supported as we work through the impact of traumatic experiences. I integrate evidence-based therapies, including EMDR and DBT, to help process traumatic memories, reduce emotional distress, strengthen coping skills, and improve emotional regulation. Progress looks different for every person, but it often includes feeling less controlled by past experiences, experiencing fewer trauma-related symptoms, building healthier relationships, and gaining greater confidence in managing life's challenges. My goal is to help you move beyond surviving so you can feel more present, empowered, and engaged in the life you want to live.
I believe therapy is most effective when you feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate evidence-based modalities, including EMDR and DBT, to help you process past experiences, build emotional regulation skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I have experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Through EMDR, I support clients in reprocessing distressing experiences so they feel less overwhelming and more integrated. Using DBT, I help you develop practical tools for managing emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships. My style is warm, grounded, and engaged. I value authenticity and strive to create a nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are. Whether you’re seeking relief from current stressors or working through deeper patterns, I’ll meet you where you are and support you in building a life that feels more balanced, connected, and aligned with your goals.

Procrastinating on work or running on autopilot? Struggling to stay focused, get quality sleep, or keep your routines on track? Maybe you’re feeling drained, frustrated by nutrition, exercise habits, or hormonal shifts, or just not like yourself lately. You’re not alone. I help people stop wasting their energy on things that drain them and start investing it where it counts. I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and work with adults ages 19 to 45. My focus is on comprehensive medication management for ADHD, Depression, Insomnia, PMDD, PTSD, and weight management. I treat the whole person, not just their symptoms. This includes looking closely at sleep habits, screen time, food choices, weightlifting, communication, mindset, and daily routines to support lasting change. My focus is on making sure you’re strong in every area, not just surviving. With 10 years of experience as a travel nurse, including 6 in psychiatry, I bring a strong clinical foundation to my current role as a nurse practitioner. Over the years, one thing has become clear to me: at the core, we are all more alike than different. Most people want peace, autonomy, and real enjoyment in their lives. My philosophy is a lot like sports. In baseball, maybe you can catch, run, and hit line drives, but if you can’t throw the ball, you’ll never reach your full potential. Mental health works the same way. Medication, sleep, movement, and daily habits all work together. That’s how real change happens
