Therapy is a safe space where you can explore your challenges, feelings, and goals without judgment. Seeking help is a courageous first step toward healing and growth. I am committed to creating a supportive and understanding environment where you feel comfortable opening up. You don’t have to face your struggles alone—therapy can provide tools, coping strategies, and the guidance you need to navigate life’s challenges.
About Me: I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with 15+ years of experience in both physical and mental healthcare. I received a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Business and Nursing. I bring a compassionate, individualized approach to help my clients overcome their mental health concerns. With a strong background in both psychiatry and nursing, my mission is to provide high-quality mental health care to my patients. I specialize in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health issues using a compassionate and evidence-based approach. I am currently accepting new patients age 6+ and specialize in difficulty relaxing or sleeping, depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, autism, and many other challenges. I offer therapeutic interventions, such as psychotherapy and counseling, and I collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for each patient. My goal is to educate patients and their families about mental health and provide them with the tools and coping strategies necessary for a healthier life. With extensive experience across various healthcare settings, including hospice care, rehabilitation, and outpatient services, I am committed to delivering exceptional care to individuals of all ages. Whether working with low-income clients or those with complex medical needs, I approach each case with cultural competence and sensitivity. I believe in fostering a team-oriented environment, keeping open lines of communication with physicians and other professionals, to ensure continuity and quality of care. I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of my patients and look forward to supporting their journey to better mental health. Treatment philosophy: My treatment philosophy is centered on compassionate, patient-focused care. I believe in engaging deeply with my patients, listening to their unique stories, and understanding their needs. My approach integrates various therapeutic methods, such as cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapy, ensuring every individual receives tailored support. I value collaboration, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals to provide well-rounded care. Every treatment plan is crafted with cultural sensitivity and an emphasis on education, empowering patients and their families with the needed knowledge. I integrate both therapy and medication to help restore balance and enhance their quality of life. I aim to help them become the best version of themselves.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those hesitant to try therapy, I want you to know that therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions with support. It’s not about being “broken” but about gaining tools to better understand yourself and improve your well-being. You don’t have to go through challenges alone—therapy is a partnership that can help you heal and grow at your own pace.
I am Dr. Jon-Michael A. Saenz, a committed psychiatrist with extensive training and experience in managing severe mental illnesses and mood disorders. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Rochester and completed my psychiatry residency at Tufts Medical Center. Following this, I pursued a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry, where I specialized in treating substance use disorders, personality disorders, as well as severe mania and psychosis. A major part of this training is the ability to clearly communicate complex issues to both patients and others outside the mental health field. My professional experience includes working at Bridgewater State Hospital, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, and the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center, where I refined my skills in addressing a diverse array of mental health conditions. My practice is grounded in a patient-centered approach, always striving to provide individualized and compassionate care. I hold medical licenses in both North Carolina and Massachusetts and possess certifications that enable me to prescribe specialized treatments, including controlled substances and Suboxone. My dedication to excellence in psychiatry has been recognized through multiple Outstanding Resident Teacher Awards during my residency. My mission is to make a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of my patients, and I am here to support you on your journey to improved mental health.
