The point of therapy is not to be judged. It is actually a non-judgmental space where you can share your hopes, fears, worries, and dreams all with the means of feeling better! Tell yourself to just try it out 3 times, then, you have set a goal to try it out. Also, it is ok to tell your therapist what you want or what you need if you realize something does not sit well with you! You and your therapist are working together for your best interest.
Congratulations on taking the bold step to healing and knowing yourself better, which leads to you feeling empowered and having more control over your life! My clinical practice is rooted in trauma-informed care with populations across the lifespan (childhood through adulthood). I possess a wide range of clinical experience, with adults experiencing severe mental health concerns, college students in multiple settings children, adolescents & families in mental health agencies and school settings. Each experience has provided me with a strong counseling skillset. I utilize person centered theory, interpersonal psychotherapy, and eco-systemic structural family therapy, and trauma-informed care. These approaches allow me to more fully understand important components of a client’s life and their impact. Unconditional positive regard and authenticity is essential to my approach as I empower and empathize with clients I will always respect, empathize, and empower clients from all cultural backgrounds. Every human is different, and their counseling plan will be tailored to who they are emotionally, socially, spiritually, ethnically, etc. If you are struggling, I aim to walk alongside you and help you to reach your goals!

Therapy looks different for everyone. It's rarely like what pop-media shows it to be. Therapy is for self-care and growth/development, and because of that, therapists have therapists too. Sessions are tailored to fit the needs of the person as best as possible, and hopefully we can journey together/alongside you, as a team, towards what YOU want in your growth in life.
I wholeheartedly believe in the process of authentic connection. With a multicultural background, I recognizes each person is uniquely multifaceted. My approach to therapy is to meet you wherever you’re at in life, get curious about you, and then serve as YOUR team to journey alongside you. The goal is to provide a safe empathetic space where you are respected and honored, so that internal self-explorations can begin, and to foster creative evolutions towards intentionality, self-discovery, self-empowerment, and healing. The focus is your growth & thriving towards being the best version(s) of yourself that you like to be. With 5 years’ experience in community mental health, psychiatric facility, and prison systems altogether, I have supported youths & adults with assessments, skills training, and therapy for individual, family, and group. I utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, EMDR, & person-centered insights to address a wide range of concerns. People deserve to be believed in, with their worth and potential supported, so that each one of us can live fulfilled, so I work towards breaking the stigma of mental health one conversation at a time. I also enjoy globetrotting, reading, tea, video games, and loves hedgehogs.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Starting therapy can feel really scary. You may have questions - "What am I supposed to say?" "Where do I start?" "How am I supposed to talk about this stuff?" You may feel vulnerable. There may be things that you haven't been able to discuss with anyone, and just opening up those issues is intimidating! And, of course, this means that you are stepping out to trust a stranger with the most vulnerable parts of your life. My first goals in therapy are to help you to feel known and to help you to feel safe. I am going to listen to you, I am not going to judge you, and I am going to try to meet you exactly where you are in your own journey. I want you to understand that whatever you are dealing with, no matter how hard it seems, you are not broken. You are just a person who is dealing with life, and life can be hard. My job is to help you to manage that hard stuff so that you can live the kind of life that you want to live.
I am an experienced and empathetic counselor, specializing in issues related to addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, relationship issues, spiritual transitions and the stressors and strains of life changes. I have spent my career helping a wide variety of clients to overcome barriers to making changes in their lives and to achieve their recovery goals. I would love to work with you and find out how I can help!

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For anyone hesitant to try therapy, I would first tell them that I get it--it can feel daunting at first, and people are already juggling a lot. But, at the same time, when someone is working with the correct fit of therapist, it will start to feel satisfying, compelling, and well worth your time and investment. I don't think anyone ends up regretting investing in themselves and prioritizing their mental health.
I am a New York City-based licensed clinical social worker who believes that it’s powerful and healing to have a space to be heard and supported while addressing challenges and achieving goals. I work with adults of all ages and walks of life who want to live a happier and more satisfying and productive life. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, trying to understand their career and relationship goals, learning how best to respond to daily stress, anxiety, and challenges, and striving to improve their relationships, mental health, emotions, and self-esteem. Together, we will clarify your goals and develop insight, skills, and self-compassion. I provide my clients with the tools and skills to better understand themselves and feel resilient, grounded, and empowered to make changes. My approach is empathic and exploratory and I draw from a combination of skills- and insight-oriented modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I received both my undergraduate degree and Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and spent several years working in the Department of Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, where I treated individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues. Prior to that, I worked with individuals with chronic and progressive neurological illnesses at NYU Langone Medical Center. You are worthy of having a safe space to be heard, nourished, and supported. I know it can be intimidating and overwhelming to be vulnerable with a stranger, but I have every confidence that this journey will be beneficial and rewarding. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and discuss how I can come alongside you as a support and a guide.
