Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
I am so glad you are here, I understand taking this first step to seek therapy wasn’t easy. Sometimes the biggest hurdle is when we realize we need to take care of our mental health and that’s a huge accomplishment. The foundation of therapy is the relationship built between therapist and client. This relationship allows for a supportive, safe place for you to be able to challenge yourself to heal and change. So right now the struggle can be anxiety, feeling overwhelmed with thoughts, difficulty with getting out of bed, making and maintaining healthy relationships. Dealing with some of these symptoms, if left untreated, can cause a domino effect in job performance, your physical well-being, and your relationships with friends and loved ones. Sometimes you need someone that can be an unbiased ear who helps you find your path. I have been in the field of mental health in many different capacities. However, providing one on one therapy is my true passion. During my early college years, I worked as a tutor with adolescents who were underprivileged, under-supported, struggling with learning disabilities. This sparked an interest in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the California State University of San Bernardino. My journey continued working with children on the autism spectrum and assisting the families with the challenges which arise from parenting and maintaining relationships. I noticed that oftentimes families were not always given the same amount of support. This has further kindled my interest in wanting to provide better support for families. I then pursued a Master’s Degree of Science in counseling Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix. I bring over 12 years of experience working with children, families, individuals, and couples. Throughout my practice, I have helped others with learning new coping tools to help with life’s challenges. My skills in working with individuals include using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and narrative therapy to help others struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, self-esteem issues, parenting, and trauma. All of which affect how we relate to others. My work has focused on building a strong family foundation. To educate my clients by teaching them how to communicate and strengthen their bond with other members of a family unit as well as relationships with peers and romantic partners. My biggest passion is to see the growth made by my clients to help them reach their maximum potential when they are provided with the needed guidance to succeed. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I bring enthusiasm in providing support for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I look forward to being a part of your journey.
