My education in counseling and nutrition puts me in a unique position of providing comprehensive care for issues around eating, body image, and digestive health, while also being able to focus on nutrition-specific or psychology-specific concerns, such as anxiety, depression and other developmental matters. I believe that counseling is helpful at all stages of the lifespan, so I work with children, couples, families, and individual adults. My goal as a counselor is to support the emotional and personal growth of our community in a safe, accessible environment.
I embrace ACT, CBT, and MI, with person-centered, feminist and multicultural perspectives, focusing on lifting up voices of those who historically have not felt heard. I am an empathetic, patient listener and I believe strongly that my role as a counselor is to give my clients as much safe space as they need to process whatever their current situation is.
I work in an integrated setting with other licensed mental health counselors, as well as other disciplines, such as nutritionists and NDs, as I believe that health is integrated and that we can best serve our community when all of these disciplines come together to be of service.
