I am LaMonica, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I graduated from Gentry High School. In 2009, I received my Practical Nursing Certification at Coahoma Community College. Continuing my education, I earned my Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in 2012. Advancing further, I completed a Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing in 2015 at Walden University.
Throughout my entire nursing career, my primary focus has been in Family Medicine. I began my career in a local Health Center, initially working as a staff nurse. As a Registered Nurse, I ventured into the field as a home health nurse and then transitioned to become the owner of an allied health school that trained CNAs, MAs, Phlebotomists, and Pharmacy Techs. After completing my master’s program, I opened my independent practice as a Nurse Practitioner before deciding to attend Medical School three years later.
Currently, I am a fourth-year medical student at Washington University of Health and Science. Simultaneously, I am completing a third Master’s for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University, which will be completed in April 2024. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and cuddling up with a good movie.
