I am LaMonica, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I graduated from Gentry High School. In 2009, I received my Practical Nursing Certification at Coahoma Community College. Continuing my education, I earned my Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in 2012. Advancing further, I completed a Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing in 2015 at Walden University. Throughout my entire nursing career, my primary focus has been in Family Medicine. I began my career in a local Health Center, initially working as a staff nurse. As a Registered Nurse, I ventured into the field as a home health nurse and then transitioned to become the owner of an allied health school that trained CNAs, MAs, Phlebotomists, and Pharmacy Techs. After completing my master’s program, I opened my independent practice as a Nurse Practitioner before deciding to attend Medical School three years later. Currently, I am a fourth-year medical student at Washington University of Health and Science. Simultaneously, I am completing a third Master’s for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University, which will be completed in April 2024. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and cuddling up with a good movie.

I am Joseph Mwangi, MSN, PMHNP-BC, a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 21 years of experience in healthcare. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, I have treated a wide range of mental health disorders in various settings, including inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and community home visits. With a Master's degree from Walden University, I believe in a holistic approach to mental health. I combine medication management with therapeutic techniques to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient. My goal is to foster self-discovery and personal growth through compassionate, patient-centered care. My passion is to provide hope and healing from life’ s challenges in a nonjudgmental, serene environment. I provide a holistic , person centered  approach and have worked in the healthcare industry for over 25 years and provide several specialties to help individuals, couples, and groups recover from the pain of addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues. I am an experienced trauma therapist with EMDR Certified, Certified Emotion Freedom Techniques, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Medical Therapeutic Yoga  and Yoga Therapy. I provide Christ-centered Biblical counseling if desired as well as several evidence based therapies and welcome clients from all backgrounds. I integrate therapies to best meet the needs of my clients. I also specialize working with a variety of health issues such as cancer recovery, diabetes control, health coaching, body image, and weight management.

I have 10 years of behavioral health experience, working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Specialized in Equine Assisted EMDR therapy. I am a warm, caring therapist with a sense of humor and extensive experience working with adolescents and adults. I specialize in helping men with problems resulting from anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties at home, work and in school. That being said, I enjoy working with clients from all genders and backgrounds. As a clinical psychologist I have extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and have seen many clients improve with these techniques.
