How do you work with clients with men's issues?
I work with men in a compassionate, grounded, and nonjudgmental way, recognizing that many have been taught to suppress emotion, stay guarded, or carry pain silently. Men’s issues can show up as anxiety, anger, relationship struggles, emotional numbness, burnout, shame, identity confusion, trauma, or a deep sense of disconnection from self and others. My role is to offer a space where you do not have to perform, hold everything together, or explain away what you are feeling. Using a trauma-informed, somatic, and parts-based approach such as IFS, I help men better understand the protective patterns they have developed and the deeper wounds those patterns may be guarding. Together, we build emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, self-trust, and a stronger connection to your authentic inner life. The goal is not to force vulnerability, but to create enough safety that healing, clarity, and more meaningful relationships can begin to emerge.
Life can feel overwhelming—waves of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or old wounds rising without warning. Through gentle, somatic, trauma-informed therapy, I help you tune into your body, regulate emotions, and build a sense of safety so stored stress can begin to release. At Deep Water Emotional Health, you’ll find a grounded, compassionate space for clarity, healing, and reconnection—supported by over 15 years of experience working with emotional trauma. Sessions are 55 minutes, offered virtually, in person, and in nature. I grew up in a religious community where love was mixed with fear and control. In my late 20s, unresolved trauma led to panic attacks. My own healing led me to Internal Family Systems (IFS), where I now practice as a Level 2 practitioner. You can hear more of my story on the Holistic Health podcast (Ep. 46). IFS offers a path back to your authentic Self, the calm, compassionate core within you. From there, healing begins. Your first 55-minute session is free.
