How does person-centered therapy work, and what do sessions look like?
Person-centered therapy is based on the belief that you know yourself and your experiences better than anyone else. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore what you’re feeling, gain clarity, and discover what feels right for you.
Sessions are relaxed, conversational, and guided by your individual needs. We may explore relationships, emotions, past experiences, current challenges, or patterns you would like to change. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, offer support, and help you recognize your strengths and develop greater self-awareness.
There is no expectation to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We’ll work together at a pace that feels comfortable, with the goal of helping you feel more confident, empowered, and connected to the life you want to create.
As a LMSW, I am passionate about creating a supportive and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about the challenges you’re facing.
I have experience helping individuals navigate substance use, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and focused on meeting you where you are. Together, we can identify your goals, build practical coping skills, and develop strategies that support meaningful change.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as you work toward greater emotional well-being and a healthier, more fulfilling life.
