What's your approach to depression, and what does progress look like for clients?
My approach to depression is personalized, collaborative, and focused on understanding the whole person—not just managing symptoms. I consider factors such as mood, sleep, energy, motivation, stress, relationships, work demands, and overall lifestyle when developing a treatment plan. When appropriate, treatment may include evidence-based medication management, therapeutic strategies, and practical wellness approaches that support emotional and physical well-being. Progress looks different for everyone, but meaningful improvement often includes greater motivation and energy, improved focus and emotional balance, better sleep, healthier relationships, and feeling more capable of managing everyday responsibilities. My goal is to help clients move beyond simply getting through the day and toward feeling more engaged, confident, and fulfilled in their lives.
Iman Hines, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and the Founder and CEO of Mindbodysoul Psychiatry. With more than 12 years of behavioral healthcare experience, she specializes in helping professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, mood concerns, and work-related stress. Iman understands that people can appear successful while privately struggling with focus, motivation, emotional balance, relationships, or burnout. She provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and understood. Her approach combines evidence-based psychiatric treatment, thoughtful medication management, and holistic wellness strategies. Each treatment plan is personalized to the patient’s symptoms, lifestyle, goals, and professional responsibilities. Iman’s goal is to help patients experience meaningful, lasting improvement—not simply manage symptoms. She works collaboratively with each person to strengthen daily functioning, improve overall well-being, and build a healthier, more fulfilling life.

What's your approach to depression, and what does progress look like for clients?
I approach depression by looking beyond the symptoms to understand what is happening in the larger context of your life. Whether you're experiencing depression during a major transition, after a relationship ends, while navigating work-related stress or burnout, or for other reasons, I want to understand what you're carrying and what you want to change. With over 25 years of clinical experience and specialized training in trauma and EMDR, I offer a thoughtful, individualized approach that focuses on helping you move forward rather than simply managing symptoms. Progress may look like feeling more connected to yourself, having greater clarity and confidence, rebuilding motivation, improving relationships, and feeling more capable of engaging in the life you want.
I've been a licensed clinical social worker for over twenty five years, and in that time I've learned that most people don't come to therapy because they want to talk about their problems. They come because they're ready for something to actually change. My training is in trauma, and EMDR has been a core part of how I work for a long time now, but the bulk of my practice is with women navigating a major shift, dating again after years out of the field, going through a divorce or a breakup, becoming a mother, working through midlife issues, or dealing with work related stress and burnout. I also work with couples who are trying to figure out whether they can rebuild something or whether they're ready to move on, and either way, want to do it with more clarity than they came in with. What tends to set my work apart is that I never treat a person's background, whatever it is, as separate from what's actually going on with them clinically. That comes out of years spent developing a real depth in Jewish cultural competency the psychological impact of antisemitism , work I also train other clinicians and organizations in, but the underlying skill is the same no matter who is sitting across from me, understanding the full context someone is carrying and working with it, not around it. I've been in private practice since 2008. If you're looking for someone who takes what's going on seriously and has the years behind her to know what actually helps, I'd be glad to talk.

What's your approach to depression, and what does progress look like for clients?
I approach depression with compassion and curiosity, helping clients understand not only what they are feeling but also what may be contributing to those feelings. We explore patterns, past experiences, relationships, self-expectations, and the emotions that may be difficult to process or express. I also help clients develop greater awareness of their emotional and physical experiences through mindfulness and identify the values and parts of life that are meaningful to them. Progress can look different for everyone. For some clients, it may mean feeling less overwhelmed by difficult emotions, while for others it may involve rebuilding confidence, improving relationships, becoming more engaged in daily life, or developing a stronger sense of purpose. The goal is to help clients feel more connected to themselves and capable of living in a way that feels meaningful and authentic.
Moshe Maness is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor from Brooklyn, NY but now online in NY. CT, MA, PA, FL, AK and WA. Moshe is passionate about showing individuals that their mental health doesn’t have to control their lives. Moshe helps clients who face depression, anxiety, stress, and difficult emotions that hold them back from living full lives. These individuals might also face perfectionism or burnout. Their mental health may get in the way of succeeding in the workplace, building healthy relationships, or feeling confident in themselves. Many of Moshe’s clients also experience overwhelming and at times confusing feelings of anger, frustration, loneliness, or regret. Moshe’s approach to therapy is psychodynamic, person-centered, and emotionally-focused. Clients talk openly about what’s on their mind, including their past, recent or current emotions, situations that made them react in a certain way, or ideas that came to them since the last session. Moshe helps clients make connections between the past and the present. He also teaches clients how to pay close attention to how they’re feeling, both emotionally and physically. Clients practice mindfulness to develop a keen sense of awareness that can help them better understand their reactions. Moshe also helps clients align their lives closer to their values and what’s important to them so that there’s no dissonance between how they live and how they want to live. He encourages them to consider existential questions about their life’s purpose and what it means to them to be fulfilled. Moshe earned a Master’s degree from Columbia University. He empowers clients to live confidently and with a sense of worthiness, even if they’re facing mental health challenges. He values creativity, compassion, and acceptance in his work with clients and strives to build a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship from the very first session.

How do you work with clients with depression?
I focus on understanding the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns contributing to depression. Through CBT, DBT, behavioral activation, and trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR, clients learn to shift unhelpful thoughts, regulate emotions, rebuild motivation, and strengthen resilience in daily life.
I’m Dr. Lisa Palmer, Clinical Director of The Renew Center of Florida, where I provide compassionate, specialized therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Through both in-person sessions and secure virtual care across Florida, I support clients in finding clarity, healing, and meaningful, lasting change. With advanced clinical training and decades of experience, I help adults and teens work through anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, substance use, relationship struggles, life transitions, and stress-related challenges—always with a focus on restoring balance and strengthening emotional well-being. My therapeutic approach is highly personalized. I draw from a broad range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, mindfulness-based techniques, trauma-focused interventions, and emotional regulation strategies. Together, we identify the patterns that no longer serve you and develop practical, effective tools to support healthier thoughts, improved coping, and a renewed sense of resilience.
