For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
So, I offer a free 15 minute consultation, so I can answer questions or concerns that people have about therapy. This can help people that might be "on the fence" with starting therapy. I understand that it's not easy to talk to a stranger, and to disclose personal details that others might not even know about them. I know that there is still stigma about therapy. Therapy has changed a great deal, since I began my career. I noticed that more people are coming into therapy, because it's helped someone that they know, and/or they believe that mental health is important.
Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I provide Telehealth services, throughout the state of California. I enjoy working with people who are emotional caretakers, in their intimate relationships, with their family members and friendships. They take on too many responsibilities, with not knowing how to say no to others. They are doing ALL*THE*THINGS, to please everyone, they self sacrific their own needs, and they themselves are emotionally and physically exhausted daily. They want to find a work-life balance, but struggle hard to imagine how to even begin to do this. I also help those who are in narcissistic abusive relationships, and want to end their toxic relationship. This is where I come in, to help clients find their voice, learn how to identify their feelings, needs and wants, and to communicate it, in their relationships. I work with clients on learning how to build boundaries, to prevent returning to old behaviors and patterns, that have kept them stuck, tired, anxious and not living the life they dream of. I am a big advocate for self care; emotional, physical and spiritual. I love helping clients develop their own self care plan, so they can care for others, while prioritizing and caring for themselves.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
You're going to be better in 6 months than if you started in 5 years from now.
I am a Social Worker and Yoga Instructor. I first became interested in working with mental health when I returned home from Afghanistan while in the Army National Guard. I have seen many friends fall victim to substance abuse, depression, and PTSD. I swore that I would work on being in the position to best help veterans and others who go through difficult situations. Being an addictions counselor and Social Worker is very personal to me. It is my passion. Seeing that I already had a bachelor's in Community Health, I made it my goal to become some kind of practitioner. When I learned about Social Work, I was overwhelmed with the idea of getting my Masters and working towards a license. A few years later, I finally received my Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am proud of my license and it took 5 years of hard work to attain. I have now been working in the mental health and addictions field for roughly 10 years. I first got into counseling in the military. After a few years of working inpatient mental health and substance abuse, I spent some time outpatient. I specialize in addictions but have much experience with people with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have an extra certified credential of being a Certified Trauma Therapy Professional. I also experience helping people dealing with relationships, careers, and other life issues as well. Also, I have experience working with those who have a criminal background. I try to listen and understand your problems and point of view the best I can. Based on this I work with you to develop a plan to help you make improvements. My main focus is to help you make a positive change. I hope to work around you’re needs. It's my hope that I can help support you through whatever it is your going through. Some people just want support, while others want a formal therapy. Just let me know what it is you're looking for. Sometimes people just need to talk to someone or need positive encouragement. I am happy to give this as well. I am here to be a positive person in the lives of people that need more positive people. I like to be able to input Yoga techniques in our session. In my free time, I like being with my family and animals. My family has 2 dogs and 2 cats. I attend Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and Yoga classes a few times a week.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Beginnings can be so scary. Wondering if therapy will work, if it's worth the investment, if you'll like your therapist and fearful of the answers you'll uncover for yourself. Speaking both from my experiences as a client and as a therapist, I can tell you that confidence, feeling seen and understanding your needs all lie on the other side of therapy. In session, you will be able to unwind, speak freely, gain clarity, learn new skills and feel that tension in your body start to relax. It won't always feel comfortable, not every session will be wrapped up with a bow. But on the other side of untangling the the complexities of your life will be the empowering assurance that you did this for yourself. You got this!
Welcome! I help individuals and couples make sense of their overwhelm by defining the problem and giving them tools to practice in session. You will also be assigned homework and I will provide you with the resources you need (quizzes, pdf’s, book recommendations, etc) to achieve your goals outside of your session. I am a licensed social worker and I am trained in marriage and family therapy. What that means is that in therapy we will look at the patterns in your life, your connections with others and the impact of your environment when working toward your goals. I love realness in therapy. I value being honest and direct with you and welcome your honesty and directness as well.
