What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
I like to spend the first few sessions getting to know a client. I don't feel it's necessary for a client to reveal all of the intimate details of their life right off the bat. Therefore, I tend to have a gentle approach and I leave it up to the client on what they want to talk about for that session. Let's work on building a rapport first- once you're comfortable, we can start to unpack the bigger stuff that has had an affect on your life.
Focusing on your mental health is the keystone for overall health and wellbeing, and you are doing the hardest part by just having the desire to start therapy. You are making a huge investment in yourself that will provide you with incredible emotional dividends. Clients describe my style as safe, warm, genuine, and authentic. I like to infuse sessions with humor, but only when appropriate. My goal is to create a safe space with a nonjudgmental and compassionate approach, which allows you to explore and change patterns and behaviors in your life that no longer serve you. Not only will we make sense of these behaviors, but I will also help you gain insight and interpret the deeper meaning of significants situations in your life. I believe YOU are the expert in your own life and YOU are in the driver seat. I am sitting in the passenger side, offering you guidance and tools to help navigate through challenging terrain. I have six years of experience, working with adults throughout a variety of issues such as anger management, addiction, codependency, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship problems, and a high focus on trauma. It is critical that you feel compatible and comfortable with a therapist. With this in mind, I offer a free 20-minute consultation to help determine if we are the right fit for each other. What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
I always use our first meeting to hear your individual story, ensure I have a grasp on the problems, and focus on understanding your goals for therapy. During sessions, I strive to provide a safe and connected space for my clients to resolve the issues they are currently facing, and I always treat individuals with a person-centric approach. My goal is to work with you to create evidence-based, timely, collaborative, and affordable solutions to you or your loved one's problems.
Are you or a loved one feeling stuck – uncertain about navigating changes in your life, how you see yourself, or how to reconnect with those close to you? When we feel stuck, taking steps forward can feel like a monumental task. We can work together to break down your thoughts and uncertainties, determine the best way forward, and put practical strategies into action, to empower you to create the life you want for yourself. In me, you’ll have a collaborator who will follow your lead and ensure you feel you heard but will be willing to challenge you and continue to motivate you towards achieving your goals. Therapy with me involves weaving together practical skill-building and evidence-based strategies to help you achieve your individualized goals. I work with individuals experiencing difficult life transitions at work, at home, or at school. Through individual, parent, or family sessions, we will untangle your thoughts, improve your self-esteem, and take tangible steps towards sustainable change. Neurodiversity (Autism & ADHD) affirming and LGBTQ+ friendly, I always take a person-centric approach. When you have a better understanding of who you are and what you want, your goals will feel attainable. Everyone has the ability to move past the struggles they’re experiencing, and together we can create solutions and develop skills to build long-term happiness. If you’re ready to learn how we can work together, email or call me for a 15-minute consultation.
