How does motivational interviewing work, and what do sessions look like?
Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach that helps you explore your own goals, values, and reasons for making meaningful changes. Rather than telling you what you should do, I work alongside you to identify what matters most and build confidence in your ability to move forward. Sessions are conversational and supportive, with a focus on understanding your concerns, exploring barriers, and developing realistic steps that feel achievable for you.
My name is Anyi Asongacha, PMHNP-BC, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Health Resolution LLC. I bring over 20 years of healthcare experience and more than 5 years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care across the lifespan.
I specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma-related disorders, and other behavioral health concerns. My approach integrates both medication management and psychotherapy, allowing me to provide comprehensive care tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals.
I believe in treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, valued, and empowered to take an active role in their mental health journey.
I provide care for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults through both in-person and telehealth appointments. Whether you are seeking support for a new concern or ongoing treatment, I look forward to partnering with you to help you achieve greater emotional wellness and improved quality of life.
