How does motivational interviewing work, and what do sessions look like?
Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach that helps you explore what you want to change and what may be getting in the way. Rather than telling you what you should do, I work alongside you to identify your own goals, strengths, and reasons for change. Sessions are conversational and focused on building motivation, confidence, and practical steps that feel realistic for you.
I provide functional psychiatry for children and adults experiencing anxiety, autism, ADHD, OCD, depression, addiction, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns. My approach combines traditional psychiatry with functional medicine, focusing not only on symptoms but also on potential underlying factors such as nutrition, vitamin and mineral levels, gut health, inflammation, metabolism, genetics, hormones, and brain chemistry.
I offer individualized, holistic treatment plans that may include medications, supplements, minerals, and herbs. I also collaborate with your therapist or help you find a therapist who is a good fit. My goal is to understand the whole person, identify contributing factors, and work together toward a treatment approach that supports your mental and overall well-being.
