For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
If you're hesitant to try therapy, I completely understand—it can feel intimidating at first. But I would tell you that therapy is really just a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. It's not about being "broken" or needing to be fixed; it's about giving yourself the opportunity to grow, heal, and better understand yourself. Everyone's journey is different, and therapy is a place where you can go at your own pace. It’s okay to start slow, and you’re in control of what you want to talk about or work on.
"Hello! I'm a Nurse Practitioner dedicated to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of my community. With years of experience and a genuine passion for healthcare, I’ve had the opportunity to lead several impactful projects and initiatives that contribute to better patient outcomes. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with policymakers, presenting at national conferences, and receiving accolades, including a proclamation from the Mayor during Nurse Practitioner’s Week. My focus has been on integrating mental and physical health care, improving primary care outcomes, and addressing key public health issues like childhood obesity, mental health, and chronic disease management. I specialize in family medicine, psychiatry, mental health, weight loss, and general practice, treating conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and addiction. I also provide care for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and insomnia, while addressing complex issues like OCD, personality disorders, and mood disorders. In my practice, I use a variety of evidence-based treatment methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, trauma-focused therapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. I believe in a holistic approach to health that empowers patients to take control of their well-being through tailored, compassionate care. I am deeply committed to continuous learning and sharing knowledge, knowing that every effort helps build healthier, more resilient communities. I appreciate you taking the time to learn about my work, and I look forward to collaborating with you to create a healthier future."

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those hesitant to try therapy, I would emphasize that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Therapy offers a confidential and non-judgmental space to explore thoughts and emotions, providing valuable insights and coping skills. It's a collaborative process tailored to individual needs and goals.
I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I graduated from Walden University. I have a strong history of success in the treatment of psychiatric illness, medical and emotional illness including environmental, sociological, psychological, and physical factors of mental and emotional disorders. I focus on developing a personalized treatment plan while utilizing evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological modalities to support each client. The tools that I'll provide you with are tools that I have been perfecting over my career helping people just like you. I specialize in treating psychiatric disorders including, but not limited to, Anxiety, Depression, Mood disorders, Sleep Disorder, Bipolar, PTSD and ADHD. I am direct and solution focused and works collaboratively to address any issues that are bothering you right now. I am currently accepting new patient, and short notice appointments. I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I believe that the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. I offer a complimentary 10-minute consultation session for prospective patients to assess whether my services align with their needs.

If you’re unsure about trying therapy, I get it. It can feel like a big step, especially when you don’t know what to expect. What I wish more people knew is that therapy doesn’t have to look one specific way. It’s not always sitting on a couch digging through childhood trauma (unless that’s something you want to explore). Some people talk for almost the full 49 minutes because they finally have a space where they can just breathe and be themselves without fear of judgment. Others need more than words, so we work through emotions with body-based practices, grounding exercises, or somatic release. Sometimes we draw, craft, move around, or pause together in silence. Even if you come in not knowing what you need, that’s okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out. I’m here to help you explore what feels right, and you can always shift directions, whether it’s after five minutes or five sessions. There’s no pressure here. This space is yours. Made to fit you, not the other way around. Therapy can be soft, messy, surprising, playful, deep, or quiet, and it can change from week to week depending on what you need. The most important thing is that you don’t have to go it alone. You’re allowed to show up unsure, and we’ll figure it out together.
Hi, I’m Ysabel! I work with people who are ready for something to change, even if they’re not quite sure what that looks like yet. Maybe your mind feels like it never turns off. Maybe you're constantly second-guessing yourself, overwhelmed by emotions, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break. Or maybe you're parenting a child who’s anxious, sensitive, or shutting down, and you’re not sure how to help without burning yourself out in the process. Whatever brings you here, I believe therapy should feel like a safe space to take a breath, be honest, and figure things out at your own pace. I specialize in working with anxiety, OCD, trauma, and the hard-to-name stuff that lives in the body even when we’ve tried to think our way through it. I use a mix of mind-body tools, emotional regulation skills, and real conversations to help you or your child build insight, resilience, and lasting change. I’m not here to “fix” you, I’m here to support you in understanding your story, unlearning what no longer fits, and moving toward a version of life that feels more grounded, clear, and true to who you are.
