What's your approach to depression, and what does progress look like for clients?
My approach to depression begins with meeting you where you are. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing without feeling pressured to “just feel better.” Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns that may be contributing to how you feel while also identifying your strengths and sources of support. I use a person-centered approach along with practical strategies to help you develop healthier coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and gradually reconnect with the people, activities, and parts of yourself that matter to you. Progress looks different for everyone. It may begin with small changes—having more energy, feeling less overwhelmed, setting boundaries, enjoying something again, or simply having more hopeful days. Over time, the goal is to help you feel more confident, connected, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges.
As a LMSW, I am passionate about creating a supportive and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about the challenges you’re facing. I have experience helping individuals navigate substance use, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and focused on meeting you where you are. Together, we can identify your goals, build practical coping skills, and develop strategies that support meaningful change. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as you work toward greater emotional well-being and a healthier, more fulfilling life.

What's your approach to depression, and what does progress look like for clients?
My approach to depression is compassionate, trauma-informed, and solution-focused. I help clients understand the experiences and patterns contributing to their depression while identifying their strengths and practical ways to create positive change. Using CBT, positive psychology, psychoeducation, and reality therapy, I support clients in developing healthier perspectives and coping strategies. Progress may look like greater self-understanding, improved emotional well-being, increased confidence, and taking meaningful steps toward personal growth.
My journey into counseling came from my own childhood experiences of trauma and family conflict. I sought help but couldn't access what I needed at the time. This inspired me to become both a minister and counselor so I could help others in ways I wasn't helped. I've served in church ministries and community work for many years. I'm a person- and family-centered therapist who encourages parent and sibling engagement when appropriate. My goal is to help you focus on your strengths and strive towards personal growth using interactive, solution-focused therapy with practical feedback. I offer spiritual and Christian biblical guidance when requested. I work with clients seeking help with depression, anxiety, PTSD, couples and family therapy, and parent-child therapy. My mission is to provide compassionate, caring, and confidential counseling in a safe and supportive space. I welcome individuals and families from all walks of life, including the LGBT+ community, without judgment. I utilize a trauma-informed care approach and don't see you as a diagnosis. In session, I work to connect with you as an individual, help you understand yourself, problem-solve when necessary, and focus on positive solutions for the betterment of your life and mental well-being. I believe the counseling session is a space for self-exploration, guidance, and support through life's stressors. As an eclectic therapist specializing in trauma-informed care, I use a combination of CBT, psychoeducation with positive psychology, and reality therapy to help you achieve positive changes and personal healing.

How do you work with clients with depression?
I work with clients with depression by creating a supportive space where they can explore what they are feeling without judgment. Depression can often be connected to patterns of disconnection, self-protection, grief, or feeling stuck in ways of coping that once made sense but no longer feel helpful. Together, we look at these patterns with curiosity and compassion. I help clients build greater self-awareness, understand the emotional roots of their depression, and reconnect with parts of themselves that may feel hidden, shut down, or overwhelmed. My approach is gentle, depth-oriented, and collaborative, supporting clients in finding more meaning, connection, and a renewed sense of possibility.
I believe that we are all wired for connection and that our relationships deeply shape how we understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. When connection feels uncertain, unsafe, or threatened, we often develop ways of coping that help us protect ourselves and maintain a sense of safety. While these strategies may have served an important purpose at one time, they can sometimes become patterns that leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or unfulfilled. My work is centered on helping clients explore these patterns with curiosity, compassion, and care. I offer a depth-oriented approach that supports clients in building greater self-awareness, understanding their emotional world, and reconnecting with their authentic selves. Together, we create space for healing, integration, and new ways of relating that feel more grounded, meaningful, and fulfilling.
