What's your experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)?
I have integrated CBT into my practice regularly since becoming licensed. CBT can be extremely effective in working with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression. When using CBT, I collaborate with clients to determine the direction of the therapeutic process and identify errors in their thinking. After identifying those errors, clients learn how to begin challenging automatic thoughts that they have developed over time. It's almost like teaching the client to be their own therapist by helping them learn how to identify the errors in thinking. In turn, the client practices challenging those thinking errors inside and outside of session. In addition to helping clients learn how to challenge their thoughts, I also assist them in learning how to change their behaviors in response to their triggers. The foundation of CBT is that dysfunctional thinking underlies all emotion and behaviors. If clients can change their thinking and behavior, they by default change their relationship with their emotions.
I am Tiffany Jones, Owner of Psychache Solutions LLC. I provide a comprehensive set of services to help you boost your confidence and offer support as you navigate your mental health and wellness challenges. I work with clients closely in order to achieve measurable results that allow them to push forward with a new, positive mindset.

How does cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) work and how can it help?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that helps individuals understand and modify the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By identifying and challenging negative or distorted thought patterns, CBT aims to promote healthier interpretations of situations and more adaptive responses. Through collaboration with a therapist, individuals learn to reframe their thoughts, develop coping skills, and implement behavior changes that lead to improved emotional well-being and a greater ability to manage challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, and various other mental health issues.
I'm Khameelah Tomlin, LCSW-C, a dedicated mental health professional with a passion for empowering individuals on their unique journeys towards healing and growth. With over 10 years of experience, I have honed my skills in providing compassionate and evidence-based mental health care to diverse populations. My commitment to serving underserved and underrepresented communities has driven my work as an author, public speaker, and mental health consultant. I've authored four trauma workbooks that offer practical tools and insights for individuals and practitioners navigating the complexities of trauma recovery. As a sought-after public speaker, I've had the privilege of sharing my expertise on trauma, resilience, and mental health at various conferences, workshops, and events. In addition to my speaking engagements and writing endeavors, I am the proud owner and operator of Flowidity Counseling. My practice specializes in trauma care for Military Veterans, African American communities, and immigrants. I approach therapy with a holistic perspective, considering the unique needs and experiences of each individual. Together, we work to develop coping strategies, explore healing modalities, and cultivate resilience. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in International Psychology from the prestigious Chicago School of Professional Psychology in the District of Columbia, I am committed to advancing my knowledge and skills to better serve those in need. My academic pursuits complement my real-world experiences, allowing me to offer a well-rounded approach to mental health care. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in various capacities, including as the Director of Mental Health Services.
