How do you work with clients with depression?
I work with clients with depression by taking time to understand both what they are feeling emotionally and how those symptoms are affecting daily life. Depression can show up in many ways, including low mood, loss of motivation, fatigue, hopelessness, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep or appetite, and feeling disconnected from yourself or others. I use a collaborative, whole-person approach that considers mental health, physical health, life stressors, and overall functioning. When appropriate, I provide medication management and make sure clients understand their options, what to expect, and how treatment may support long-term stability. My goal is to offer care that is practical, respectful, and personalized, so clients feel supported while working toward feeling more balanced, engaged, and like themselves again.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Open Chair Psychiatry & Mental Wellness. I provide telehealth psychiatric medication management for adults across Ohio with a focus on accessible, practical, and collaborative mental health care. My background in nursing and advanced psychiatric practice allows me to take a whole-person approach, recognizing how mental health, physical health, lifestyle, and life stressors interact. I believe treatment works best when patients feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about their care. I have experience treating depression, anxiety disorders, mood instability, and other complex psychiatric conditions. My practice focuses primarily on medication management while emphasizing education and practical strategies that support long-term stability. I aim to expand access to quality psychiatric care for adults throughout Ohio, including those in communities with limited mental health resources.
