Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because I believe in the power of human connection and the incredible resilience within each person. From a young age, I was drawn to understanding people’s stories—what shaped them, what hurt them, and what helped them heal. That deep curiosity and compassion led me to this path, where I could be a steady presence for those navigating pain, uncertainty, or change. What motivates me to continue is witnessing the strength and courage of my clients every day. Seeing someone rediscover their voice, reclaim their life after trauma, or find peace in the midst of struggle is a privilege I never take for granted. Each person’s journey inspires me to keep showing up, to keep learning, and to keep offering hope. My work is more than a profession—it’s a calling rooted in empathy, growth, and the belief that healing is always possible.
I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey to wellness. With years of experience in supporting both adults and adolescents, I dive deep into the heart of co-occurring disorders, addiction recovery, personal growth, trauma healing, anxiety, stress management, and depression. Your journey is unique, and I’m committed to crafting care that honors that uniqueness, focusing on your safety and progress. In our sessions, we tackle key areas like relapse prevention, building coping skills, boosting self-esteem, and embracing trauma-informed care. I utilize evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, and motivational interviewing, to guide our work. I believe in the power of community and work to connect you with strong support networks. My mission? Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a therapist because when I was younger, therapy got me through a lot of issues in a way that nothing else was able to. I wanted to help people in the same way I had been helped: by providing empathic, non-judgmental, open-minded care to people who needed it. I told myself that if I could help one person, save one life, the hard work would be worth it, and it absolutely has been.
I have spent my career focused on LGBTQ+ issues, and more specifically, gender identity issues. Transition is a big decision, and there is a lot involved. I help clients to navigate gender identity questions, determine what the best path forward is, and connect them to the resources they need to pursue transition in the way that best fits for them. I guide my clients through the process of transition to help them achieve authenticity, including HRT and surgery letters in addition to counseling. I won't make you jump through hoops to get referrals, and can often approve you in a single session. Another of my specialties is working with couples. Relationships are fundamental to our existence. Using my extensive training and experience, I help couples to build healthier communication and conflict resolution. I am also experienced in working with polyamory, BDSM dynamics, same-sex relationships, and relationships where one partner is in transition. As a member of and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the unique struggles that members of the community face regarding coming out, family complications, self-acceptance, and other issues. I help my clients to navigate these issues, and to live their best life possible.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I identify as a multiracial, bicultural, and bilingual psychologist. I was born in Kuala Lumpur (KL) Malaysia and spent my formative years in Nigeria, West Africa. I moved to the United States as an International student to pursue higher education and upon formal employment, was able to obtain my permanent residency card as an immigrant. I am very passionate about social justice reform and have a deep empathy and personal understanding of the immigrant experience and work to support and empower my clients who identify as immigrants.
Hello and bienvenue! I work with a diverse clientele and specialize in providing social justice oriented psychotherapy to people of color, as well as members of LGBTQIA+ communities. I provide culturally responsive therapy, which focuses on the strengths that you already have. I tend to use an Interpersonal Process theoretical approach (IPT) as well as a cognitive-behavioral theoretical approach (CBT) while also paying attention to your environment and access to social support. I work with you to build a safe space where you can share your experiences without the fear of being judged, and where you can focus on becoming clear about what you want, and how you want to go about making that happen. I believe that it is important to build a strong therapeutic relationship, as well as paying close attention to what is happening for you in-the-moment. I find it helpful to work to understand the different values and beliefs that we bring into the room, and how these worldviews might affect our interactions with each other. Understanding how your thoughts are related to your behaviors can empower and help you to actively account for your reality. You can use this insight to make the changes that will be necessary to live life more healthily.

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
When I applied to college I wanted to be an artist and open my own gallery, but I felt pulled to help people by becoming a therapist. I have always been an observer of people, the supportive friend, and a holder of people's stories. I feel that this work is what I have been called to do and I feel that it is a privilege to be a therapist. My favorite part about being a therapist is being able to witness the women I work with in some of their most challenging and proudest moments. I am able to journey with them, challenge them, and support them as they come into their own! It truly is a beautiful process (even if the process is a bit messy).
Are you a woman that has done everything expected and more, but it never feels like enough, and your life is far from what you hoped? Everyone thinks that you have it all together, but inside you feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities. You realize that you have given everything to your relationships, but you struggle to lean into them because you don’t feel supported. You know that you want to do things differently and be different, but you are unsure of what that even looks like. It is possible for you to cultivate a life you genuinely love, with the people that matter the most, by gaining a deeper sense of who you are. Therapy should be a safe space where you can grow, flourish, and heal. Our sessions will help you learn to see the big picture so you can shift your perspective, get clear about what matters, and create lasting change in your life and relationships. We will focus on the whole of who you are so you can truly be whole and step into your power and purpose. As an experienced women’s therapist, I believe you can resist shrinking yourself to make others comfortable, have confidence managing life’s ups and downs, and prioritize your needs guilt free. Our work will help you develop the tools to create positive, lasting changes that honor your values and wellbeing. Visit my website to schedule a free consultation.
