How do you work with clients with anxiety?
When working with clients who experience anxiety, I provide a supportive space to understand their triggers and patterns while teaching practical coping skills. I often use CBT techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts and solution-focused strategies to build confidence, reduce worry, and regain a sense of calm and control in daily life.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with adult population with issues of decreased motivation and anxiety. It is my thinking that everyone should have someone to speak to about things on their minds, both good and not great, and I will provide a confidential and safe space for this. I use various types of therapeutic interventions while engaging my clients in conversation and helping them see how they can improve in their life choices and to feel better about themselves. As humans, we all make mistakes and in making these mistake, we learn to improve ourselves. I work with Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic techniques as the way we think about things affects how we feel, which in turn affects our behaviors. I urge for self care and help my clients with feelings of low confidence. My focus is in the areas of depression and anxiety and I use a blend of evidence based techniques to make my clients feel happier with their lives and their choices. I have experience with group work and with individual therapy and will help you find what works for you throughout our time together.

How do you work with clients with anxiety?
I help clients identify the thought patterns, triggers, and physiological responses driving their anxiety. Using CBT, DBT skills, mindfulness, and trauma-focused methods like EMDR when needed, we work to calm the nervous system, reframe anxious thinking, and build practical tools for managing stress and regaining a sense of control.
I’m Dr. Lisa Palmer, Clinical Director of The Renew Center of Florida, where I provide compassionate, specialized therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Through both in-person sessions and secure virtual care across Florida, I support clients in finding clarity, healing, and meaningful, lasting change. With advanced clinical training and decades of experience, I help adults and teens work through anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, substance use, relationship struggles, life transitions, and stress-related challenges—always with a focus on restoring balance and strengthening emotional well-being. My therapeutic approach is highly personalized. I draw from a broad range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, mindfulness-based techniques, trauma-focused interventions, and emotional regulation strategies. Together, we identify the patterns that no longer serve you and develop practical, effective tools to support healthier thoughts, improved coping, and a renewed sense of resilience.
