That therapy isn't magic nor are there any wrong ways to do it. Therapy is a place to figure it out, make some plans, and find some confidence and peace.
UPDATE: not currently accepting insurance, out of network only, but lets check your out-0f-network benefits and see whats up So, you're considering therapy? I get it, things are crazy and it feels like we are living in a really bad late-night movie, complete with sad and pathetic villains. I don't have any magic over here, but I do have a place where we can hopefully get you to a place that looks more like where you want to be. I have an eclectic approach, which is a fancy way of saying that I don't rely on any one way of getting to where you want to be. But my starting point is always from a place of your strengths, the things you are already doing well; you are not your symptoms. I trend toward elements from Acceptance and Commitment, Narrative, Positive Psychology, Existentialism, Brief Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Behavioral Activation, and Mindfulness. I am progressive in my politics, a non-believer, and I welcome cursing as a means of expression. I believe that humor can get us through a lot of things. I mention this only because I have often had difficulty finding my own therapists that didn't wince when I said fuck or want to steer me in a spiritual direction. I am LGBTQ+ and BIPOC affirming and welcome folks from all backgrounds and ethnicities.

For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
For those who are hesitant to try therapy, I want you to know that I understand why. Actively participating in therapy can be scary because it requires vulnerability and openness about topics that may be taboo or uncharted territory for you. I understand. In my therapeutic setting, I create a safe space for you to come and share your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs in a space that is free of judgment or criticism. Therapy won't always be comfortable, but I believe it is worth it and your effort will yield results.
Hi, I'm Kalisha Crone and I’m a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about supporting communities of color and helping all of my clients improve their overall well-being. My life’s journey paired with my education has afforded me countless learning opportunities that have shaped me into the therapist that I am today. I use techniques such as mindfulness, client-centered therapy, and cognitive behavioral interventions to create a safe space for my clients to process, reflect, learn, grow and eventually go forth on their own. I believe in the power of resilience and I understand that in sharing our stories and receiving the validation that we deserve we can heal the hurt and trauma we have carried for far too long. I care about you, your family, and your story. You can trust that I will treat you with respect, dignity and compassion in every interaction, while maintaining the highest standards for integrity and ethics. Please feel free to contact me for a free consult to see if we are a good fit!
