What do therapy sessions with you look like?
In our sessions, you'll find a calm, supportive space where you can be exactly who you are—without pressure, judgment, or pretense. My approach is warm, collaborative, and centered around you. Whether we’re exploring emotions, building coping tools, unpacking past experiences, or clarifying your goals, our work together is paced with your comfort in mind. I blend evidence-based practices like [e.g., CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care] with a deeply human approach. That means we’ll focus not just on “what’s wrong,” but on what matters most to you—your values, strengths, and the life you want to build. Each session is a dialogue. I may gently challenge limiting beliefs or introduce strategies for self-care and emotional regulation, but always with respect for your voice and readiness. Some days will be heavy; others might bring lightness or insight. All of it is welcome. Therapy with me is less about fixing and more about becoming—more grounded, more free, more you.
Hi, I’m Sandra Williams—a licensed professional counselor committed to walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s complexities. My approach is warm, grounded, and deeply person-centered. I believe that therapy is not about “fixing” anyone, but about helping you uncover the strength and wisdom you already carry within. With a focus on creating a safe, affirming space, I work with adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. Using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and narrative therapy, I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re facing something new or carrying something long-standing, you don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy with me is a place where you can exhale, explore, and grow. Let’s begin where you are—with openness, curiosity, and a shared commitment to your healing.

What does a typical session with you tend to look like?
A typical session with me is collaborative and client-centered, focused on meeting you exactly where you are in your unique journey. I believe that our life experiences shape who we are, and the therapeutic process should begin by honoring your personal narrative. During each session, I strive to ensure that you feel seen, heard, and supported, creating a non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly. Our work together involves identifying areas of concern and developing healthy coping strategies tailored to your individual needs. Through collaboration, we focus on navigating life's challenges, whether related to anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress. My goal is to empower you to develop the skills necessary for a more fulfilling and balanced life. In each session, we might engage in reflective conversations, practice mindfulness techniques, or explore new perspectives to help you manage emotions and find clarity.

What do therapy sessions with you look like?
Therapy sessions with me are collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs. We begin by creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I use evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide our work together. Our sessions will involve exploring your challenges, identifying patterns or behaviors that may be holding you back, and developing personalized strategies to help you achieve your goals. Whether we're working on managing anxiety, processing trauma, or improving relationships, my approach is to support you with empathy and understanding while also empowering you to make positive changes. Throughout our time together, I will provide you with tools and coping strategies that you can use in your daily life, helping you build resilience and foster long-term well-being. My focus is on making each session meaningful, productive, and aligned with your goals, ensuring that you feel heard, supported, and understood every step of the way.
Welcome! I'm a dedicated mental health professional with a passion for supporting individuals through their toughest moments. My journey began at the University of Alabama, where I honed my research skills and mentored students, laying the groundwork for a career built on knowledge and compassion. At Gracepoint Wellness, I embraced the challenge of adult emergency services, offering both individual and group therapy to those grappling with mental health and substance use issues. Similarly, at the Counseling Service Center, I provided guidance to individuals navigating court-mandated programs, covering vital topics such as domestic violence and anger management. Beyond my professional roles, I believe in giving back. Volunteering at Gracepoint Wellness and the Counseling Service Center has allowed me to offer pro bono therapy, making a difference in many lives. My commitment extends to the Florida Thoroughbred Association and Divine Province Thrift Store, where I support community initiatives. As a proud member of both the American Mental Health Counselors Association and Suncoast Mental Counselors Association, I stay connected to the latest in our field. My dedication to continuous learning is reflected in my recent certifications in crisis intervention, psychological first aid, safety administration, and life support among others. These ensure that I am equipped with cutting-edge strategies to help you navigate life's challenges.
