However, as I got older I developed the belief that despite tragedy and loss people are resilient and can get through anything when they feel safe and have support. I value the therapeutic relationship, as well as providing a safe space for my clients to process and be their authentic selves. My approach is solution- focused, client-centered, integrated with cognitive behavioral therapy.

Welcome. I provide counseling to individual adults who would like support living with the of trauma, and working with chronic depression and anxiety. I utilize a trauma informed lens with a gradual insight building approach to explore the whole person in relationship with their environment. I am also keen to create space to examine contrasting value systems, its generational impact, and observe the nuances of how our past experiences shows up present day. Together we learn how we can reconcile the influences of the past, practice the present, and continue to access choices with vitality moving forward. We do this a moment at a time.

My name is Sandy Baker. I am a licensed mental health counselor. In 2018, I obtained my Master of  Science in Education and my Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental health counseling degree at Alfred University, NY.  Empowering my clients is my primary goal as a practitioner in the mental health field.
