Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner because I have a passion for helping people achieve their best possible mental health. My experiences in various healthcare settings, from hospitals to private practice, have reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate and personalized care. What motivates me to continue is the meaningful progress I see in my patients as they navigate their mental health journeys. Knowing that I can make a positive difference in someone’s life keeps me dedicated to this work every day.
Hello! I'm a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping people. After earning my Master's in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston and my Bachelor's from Boston College, I went on to specialize in psychiatric care. I currently work at a Behavioral Health Hospital in CT, where I focus on treating geriatric patients with various mental health conditions. My approach includes supportive, personalized and compassionate care. Previously, I worked at a Private Practice in New Britain, where I prescribed medication, diagnosed and managed treatments for mental health disorders across the life span. I always strive to support my patients and their families through clear communication and comprehensive care plans. Earlier in my career, I was a Registered Nurse at Hartford Hospital's Institute of Living. There, I cared for patients with conditions like depression, dementia, and schizophrenia. I also enjoyed mentoring new nurses and working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. I'm certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I'm also trained in Basic Cardiac Life Support. I look forward to partnering with you on your health journey!

Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
I'm a spiritual and highly empathetic person. I was naturally drawn to becoming a therapist due to interest in helping and healing others. I empower my clients to make changes to improve their lives and have great success stories of people who truly transformed their lives while working with me.
I'm a clinical social worker with 10 years of experience. I have a upbeat, creative, warm and non-judgmental personality which clients report make it easy and natural to open up to me. I believe that therapy is an avenue to self improvement, healing and transformation. I see myself as a guide who supports clients in their journey of personal and emotional growth. I help clients become more self-aware, improve self regulation and coping skills, heal from previous stressful/traumatic experiences, enhance their communication skills, and understand their emotions at a deeper level. I see clients across the lifespan and provide counseling to children, adolescents and adults. I use traditional counseling techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy, as well as complementary therapy approaches such as mindfulness and meditation to help clients work towards greater happiness. Please reach out to me via email, phone call or text if you are interested in becoming a new client. I respond to texts and e-mails within 24 hours. Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
Many people experience dark times in their life. For some, those dark times can lead to insight into their calling, as it did for me. I truly believe I was meant to be a therapist. I don’t remember wanting to do anything else. My journey to mental health counseling began as a volunteer group facilitator for those who have experienced intimate partner violence, physical and/or sexual abuse as a child or adult. I gained experience as an addiction counselor before entering grad school. I have 8 years of experience working in community mental health/DMH setting as an employment specialist, case manager and therapist before making the move to private practice. It’s fulfilling work to be a part of someone’s journey, no matter how dark it starts there is hope. I enjoy helping people realize their innate potential and heal.
I’m so glad you are here! My personal philosophy around therapy is that it is a tool used to help you on your journey until you are ready to let go of the helping hand and navigate your world using the coping skills, tools and resources you gained in therapy. Allow me to help you navigate through this confusing time and help you regain your confidence in yourself. As your therapist I can guide you towards improving your mood and relationships as well as strengthening your copings skills and problem solving abilities so that what once felt unmanageable is now manageable. Give me a call for a free 15 minute consultation to see if I’m the right therapist for you!
