Why did you become a therapist, and what motivates you to continue?
As a kid and teen I desperately needed someone to talk to, someone to process my experiences with, and someone safe to discuss the traumas I was dealing with. Unfortunately, I grew up in a home that didn't value mental health help and I didn't get the healing care I needed until I was a young adult. When I finally got the healing care I needed I had a new passion for life and could appreciate my resilience. After doing my own work on my journey I knew my purpose was to then help others on their paths. I feel so lucky to be a therapist and to be able to provide support to those who need it and are hurting.
Hello and welcome! Taking the initial step of finding a therapist and beginning the journey of healing can be scary and awkward at first. I am glad you are here. At Creative Growth Counseling, LLC you'll find compassionate Tele-health therapy services utilizing a blend of traditional talk therapy, creative techniques, and humor. I enjoy working with variety of ages and issues including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, attachment issues/relationship struggles, and many other unique and personal challenges. I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are in their lives by encouraging existing strengths and healing wounds to support the emotional growth of each individual need. If you're looking for personal growth, healing from past wounds, or just wanting a safe space to express yourself I will listen empathetically, help you access the strengths you already have inside you, and help you learn to find new ways to grow through what life brings. I am honored to be let into the life of each person I work with and value the therapeutic relationship most importantly. I am always humbled and amazed at the resiliency and strengths that I am shown through my work with others, and I thank you for sharing a piece of yourself with me. - Meag Hisscock, LCSW
