For people that are hesitant to try therapy, what do you wish you could tell them?
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re not sure what to expect or if it will help. I often tell people that you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin—therapy is a space where we figure things out together. You can come exactly as you are, whether that means feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or even skeptical. My advice is to think of therapy as a conversation, not a commitment to have all the answers. It’s okay to take it one step at a time. You are in control of the process, and a good therapist will meet you at your pace. Even one session can offer clarity or a new perspective. You deserve a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
